25 years ago, America was attacked in a way that it had never been before and hasn’t since.
That day will forever live on in infamy as a reminder that evil lives in this world in ways that few ever deemed possible.
But along with such reckless hate, there was also beautiful hope.
We use this day to remember the fallen who were lost this day but also we choose to remember this day as a chance to honor all the first responders and brave civilians who decided to help and stand up to such hate. From the brave police officers, fire fighters, medical personnel, and the regular people who stepped up,
We at Arnis International want to honor all who choose to run towards the fire. For little to no recognition.
Thank you for all you did and continue to do.

Finally back and settle after last week’s camp. First, I want to thank Michael Craig for hosting a wonderful event! From the venue to lineup, to transportation, everything was great!!
It was truly an honor to share the floor with people I truly respect and admire. GM’s Bobby, Brian, Roland and Super Dan!! Fantastic examples of true Martial Artist. Great technicians, great teachers but most of all, truly great People!

The biggest and baddest Modern Arnis event in the country is happening this weekend!!!!!
This event will serve as a time of celebration of the life of the man who created Modern Arnis who left us 25 years ago.
We encourage any and all who knew the man known as Remy Presas to come to the event. To share stories and memories.
And we encourage any who did not know the man to attend so that they may learn about this icon of martial artist.
The line up consist of four true OG Students of Professor Presas
Professor Dan Anderson
GM Brian Zawilinski
GM Bruce Chiu
Master Roland Rivera
And it will also have one of Remys last loving PEERS there as well.

We are all saddened by the news of the passing of one of the true warriors of modern FMA.
GM Chiu has told the story of talking with GM Doug and hearing him say “I wanna go fight to prove Professors stuff worked!”
And Doug was one badass fighter by ALL accounts. And did it WELL in his later years proving he could still go!
Condolences to his family and to the Modern Arnis community.

We know that today may be a celebration of three day weekend for some.
A time for family and fun and food for so many around the country.
But let us not forget how it is that we have those privileges.
How it is that we get to enjoy that three day weekend. How it is that we get to celebrate.
We get to do enjoy those privileges because of the few and brave who decided to take up arms and defend this country from all enemies foreign and domestic.
They fight and some fall for us.
Today as you celebrate, take a moment and reflect on that sacrifice. Parents out there, maybe teach your young ones about it. Explain the sacrifice, explain the privilege, explain what this day is all about.
We here at Arnis International want to do the same and remember those who never got to come home.
God bless our troops and God bless America.
