Verification of a result is a critical part of the learning cycle! We verify a number of ways. How was the contact? What direction did the ball go? There are very few positions that a player can personally verify whether or not they are doing what their coach is asking them to do. Position 9 of the golf swing is one of them. Position 9 is when the arms and shaft are parallel to the ground on the follow through. Tuesday Tip! If you are struggling with contact, this tip is for you. If you want more distance then this tip is for you. If you want to control the direction of the ball then this tip is for you. Study the photo comparison below. All of the traits of great ball striking are shown in the after photo on the right. The Weight is forward, the radius of the swing is lined up and the feet are turned out. What a great start!

Tuesday Tip: This may be my favorite drill. It is a drill that gets the most benefit with the fewest words or actions. The drill can be done anywhere and doesn't require a golf ball. If you REALLY want to become a better ball striker, this is a great place to begin!

Tuesday Tip! Can't turn? Everyone can turn more if they understand how to do it. The player must also understand that there is more to it than just turning. You must be able to extend, tilt and then turn the spine to maximize the body's ability to fully turn. It is not complicated.

1. Flex your lead knee.
2. Straighten your trail knee.
3. Turn your trail hip to your tailbone.
