Few things I learned early in my coaching career...

• Get down on their level.
• Take off your sunglasses to ensure eye contact.
• Make sure the sun is to their back.
• Ask them questions, hear their thoughts before you give yours.
• Don’t over coach by having something to say every rep/pitch/swing.
• Take time to get to know them, their movements, their habits and character before you start suggesting changes/things to work on.
• Their peak athleticism is temporary, make sure we always put leading the person first.
