Unfortunately… if you’re a runner working with us, you will be strength training 😅

Because more miles alone won’t fix:
• Recurring aches and injuries
• Poor force production
• Leaks in your stride efficiency

We’re building runners who are durable, powerful, and actually improving—not just surviving their training.

Strength isn’t optional if you want to run fast and stay healthy.

Big shoutout to our rockstar patient, Ellie!

Next weekend she’ll be taking on the Flagstaff to Grand Canyon 55k — and we couldn’t be more proud of her dedication and the hard work she’s put in to get here. Best of luck, Ellie — go crush it out there! 🏔️💪🏃‍♀️

Over the past several months, Ellie has been training with Davis to prepare for this huge challenge. From building strength to dialing in recovery, she’s put in the work day after day. We couldn’t be more fired up to see her take on this race and show off all that effort.

Let’s go, Ellie! 🙌🔥

🔥 How strong are your calves? 🔥
Your ability to perform single-leg calf raises says a lot more about your overall strength and injury risk than you might think — especially if you’re a runner or recovering from an ankle or Achilles issue.

Using normative data from Hébert-Losier et al. (2017), here’s what’s normal for healthy adults:

Males (20–39 yrs): 37 reps
Females (20–39 yrs): 30 reps
(Values drop slightly with age — are you meeting your mark?)

Weakness here can mean:
- Increased risk of lower leg injuries
- Reduced running efficiency & power
- Delayed return to sport after injury

At Elite Movement, we use this as part of our clinical exam to track progress, build programs, and prevent injury before it happens.
