Fit 4 Race Series

We are pleased to share that the 2022-2023 Fit 4 Race Series raised over $4,000 for our Charity Partners, the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Winston-Salem and the Winston-Salem Street School. Race participants are given the opportunity to contribute to the Charity Partners at the time of event registration. Through the generosity of the running community, we were able to donate $2,683.36 to the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Winston-Salem and $1,344.00 to the Winston-Salem Street School. Yesterday, Race Director Bill Gibbs presented checks to representatives from both organizations.

Frosty Fifty Race Weekend! ❄️❄️❄️

We’re so excited for what is sure to be an awesome event! A few reminders:

• Packet Pickup begins Friday, 1/6 from 3pm - 7pm at Salem Lake Marina. Race day packet pickup will take place on Saturday, 1/7 from 6:30am - 7:30am. There is no registration at packet pickup or on race day.

• Twin City Track Club is a partner of Sneakers4Funds to recycle gently used running shoes (clean, dry, laces tied together). We will have collection bins at the race if you have some shoes you would like to donate. 👟

• Following Frosty Fifty, Twin City Track Club’s Winter Seminar with Des Linden will take place on Saturday, 1/7.

You do not want to miss this year's Frosty Fifty Trail Races! In conjunction with the Twin City Track Club's Winter Seminar, Desiree Linden will be running the 25K race!

Join us at Salem Lake for one of FOUR races fit for any distance! Celebrate your run with post race food, homemade soup, beer from Radar Brewing and a Des Linden sighting, and if you are lucky, a selfie!

EVENTS INCLUDE:
Night 5K (Friday, 1/6/23)
25K (15.5 miles: 2 loops. 12.5K/loop)
50K (31 miles: 4 loops. 12.5K/loop)
Gwyn's Grace 50K Relay: 4 person relay team. Each leg = 12.5K loop

Registration closes at 11:59PM Saturday, 12/31. NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION!

From Salem Lake Trail Races Race Director Bill Gibbs:

You can not have a race without volunteers and, of course, you can not have a race without runners, so I want to thank everyone who signed up and came out to run. I hope you had a great experience. We had great sponsors and the awards were off the charts (https://www.shopmonarch.org/). If you enjoyed your race experience, please thank a volunteer.

I would also like to personally thank all the volunteers for all the work you put in for this event!!! It is a well-oiled machine!! I wish everyone could have been in the Marina at sunrise, it was awesome. I think that is when I realized it was going to be a great day!

Also, I want to thank Grier Esleeck, who not only worked hard Friday evening, but gave everyone something to smile about…youth! Thanks to Eva for picking up volunteers' food (and medical) and Ashley for thinking of doing this. We will have breakfast & lunch for Frosty Fifty.

The shirts are awesome (Ashley)! I have never had so many people compliment the shirts and ask for one. I have some left if anyone wants one.

And thanks to the WSSU girls track team for “womaning” the water stops, nothing but compliments, but I was not surprised because I work with them at JDL.

Thanks Er and Chris for the timing aspect of the event….still trying to figure out Warren's job. I am sure I have forgotten someone… Ashley deserves so much credit. I will say let's do this and she says NO….ok….any innovation was her idea, not mine. And Finally Bill Walker he keeps things real….I will run things by him ….he will either say “well you are the race director that is your decision” or “absolutely not”….my response is always “yes sir.”

I hope you all will volunteer for Frosty Fifty!
