The 2025-2026 season comes to a close for the Campbell Speed/Power group as the CAA Championships concluded this year. With a small roster, our team made sure to leave it all out on the track. Here are the top 3 performances:

⭐️ Senior Amanda Ballard made sure to go out strong with her best performances at the CAA Championships across her collegiate career. She recorded a new PB in the 200m and ran in some rough conditions to earn 7th place in the 100m and 8th in the 200m.
⭐️ Sophomore Daniel Griffith went out and toed the line to help his team score 4 points with a 5th place finish in the Mens Decathlon is what will likely go down as one of the most injury ridden competitions in CAA history. As we move forward, don't expect this to be the norm as we bring in a large multis crew for the 2026-2027 season!
⭐️ Freshman Elise Graves pieced together a strong multi good enough for 13th at the championships and 6th All-Time at Campbell University. She will be a leader of the large multis crew next year that will look to continue to climb the ranks!

Thats a wrap for the 2025-2026 season! 18 of the 21 athletes who trained with this group recorded lifetime PBs this year. We still have open roster spots for the Women's Sprints, Pole Vault, and Multis for next year. Whether you're a High School Senior or in the NCAA Transfer Portal, reach out if you want to be a part of this great group!

Campbell's Speed/Power group wrapped up the regular season this week with a couple Top-10 All-Time marks along with a lot of PBs. Here were the best from the weekend:

⭐️ Sophomore Zoie Hembree moved up the rankings with a new collegiate PB of 3.37m for 6th All-Time. As we head into next season, expect the rising junior to be on some bigger poles and clearing even higher heights!
⭐️ Freshman Cory Haswell had a lifetime PB of 3.52m to wrap up his Freshman year. He followed this up with a first bar clearance of 3.56m on Monday at an intrasquad competition.
⭐️ Ballard, Caldeira, Emory, and Brown cleaned up their handoffs as they improved by over a second from their season opener with a time of 46.95. This mark is good for the 8th fastest in school history and with another few weeks to go, this group can drop even more time!

Next up, Campbell student-athletes will have a break from competition to focus on their finals before returning to the track on Sunday May 3rd for the Duke Twilight meet as a last tune up before CAA Champs.

Campbell's Speed/Power group competed in a Intrasquad competition last week in the 2nd Biomotor Test in Campbell's history! Overall, there were some very strong performances across the board. Here were the Top-3 Performers of the day

⭐️ Senior Amanda Ballard had a massive day going 4/4 on lifetime bests to improve her best score to 3,465. Each of her 4 marks are also good enough for Campbell Records. Expect big things from this outdoor season!
⭐️ Sophomore Aedan Sampey had a very strong day with lifetime bests in 3/4 events. His most notable marks were a 12.76m Overhead Shot Throw and a 3.99 30m Accel. Our pole vaulters make sure they stay fast and strong!
⭐️ Freshman Elise Graves had a very strong showing with 2 new lifetime bests and tying her best 150m sprint. This helped her improve on her total score by 156 points.

WHAT IS THE BIOMOTOR TEST?
The Biomotor Test is a series of 4 events that are scored similarly to a Decathlon or Heptathlon. Each event targets one of the body's biomotor abilities to determine where areas of Improvement or strengths lie within the athlete. The tests include a 30m Accel, Standing Long Jump, Overhead Shotput Throw, and a 150m Dash. The test can also be turned into a Pentathlon or Heptathlon by adding in the Standing Triple Jump, Underhand Shotput Throw, or 600m Run.

WHATS NEXT?
The team is gearing up for their next competition at the UNCC 49er Classic next week March 12th-14th. Its time to Fire It Up for outdoor season!
