This month, April, brings a topic to the front of our minds that has meant something to me for a long time.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness month, and often also brings light to Domestic Violence. These are not only topics to bring to light for one month of the year, but realities that many women throughout the world live with.

During college in my time with Alpha Chi Omega, I volunteered with a local women’s shelters and I had the amazing opportunity to be involved with a philanthropy which supported survivors of domestic violence.

That experience has never left me.

There is a version of strength that isn’t always acknowledged- not something loud and obvious, but something that is steady, resilient and oftentimes rebuilt quietly.

As Mea’s Balance is coming to fruition, I want that value to exist beyond words in our messaging.

A portion of all proceeds from Mea’s Balance will be consistently donated to local women’s shelters.

Not as a campaign.
Not for the month of April.
But as a part of how this business operates.

Because this work, for me, has never just been about women’s fitness.

It’s about helping women feel:
In control of their own body
Grounded within themself
And supported in building a life that feels safe, strong, and sustainable.

If you support my work in any way (whether that be participating in our programs, sharing and engaging with our social media, or even just recommending this page to a friend)-
you’re contributing to that impact as well.

And that matters.

For a long time, I felt like I was doing everything "right" - showing up, staying disciplined, and always pushing myself to "be better".

But truthfully, I was overwhelmed. Mentally, physically, just... tired in a way that rest and sleep alone couldn't fix. And no matter how hard I tried to stay consistent, I found myself stuck in this endless cycle of pushing hard, crashing and feeling exhausted, then feeling guilty and starting over again.

At some point, I realized the problem wasn't how hard I was "trying"- but it was the approach I was taking.

I started paying attention to how my body and mind actually felt. My energy, stress and even my recovery- I had to stop and truly evaluate what was happening here.

I slowed down. I focused on intentional choices that made me feel better- even if I felt like my progress slowed down.

And that's where everything shifted for me.

Now, I have started Mea's Balance to help others with what I have learned from this experience.

It's not just about workouts - it's about taking care of yourself in a way that actually works with your life. Strength, yes, but also awareness, recovery, and learning about supporting your body instead of constantly pushing against it.

Because progress shouldn't feel like burnout.

It should feel sustainable.
Grounded. Steady.

I'm still at the beginning of this, but it's something I care deeply about- and I'm excited to start sharing more of this.

If this resonates with you at all, I'd love to hear more in the comments.

Working out feels productive because it’s immediate.
Training requires patience because results are delayed.
But only one creates measurable progress.
Strength should feel sustainable.

Overreaching feels productive.
It feels disciplined.
Focused.
Serious.
But when fatigue accumulates faster than recovery, performance plateaus- regardless of effort.
Most women don’t need more intensity.
They need programmed recovery.
Structure creates progress because it respects adaptation.
