Life of the bees. They love the anel hive. We had struggled with years and our bees over wintering. Even when doing all the things right. Mite treatments, feed, insulation.
Temps and winters in ozarks is almost its own little micro climate on the mountain. Our flow is always 3 weeks behind river valley and 2 from Fayetteville. I swore by screened bottom boards for years. But for some reason they just were not working for our bees. Even using an insulated sliding board. We lost several hive over winter the past few years. Frustrated and about ready to give up we talked to John.
Switching to solid bottom board has been a game changer! Our bees are just exploding. This is our second spring with this hive!

Wow this is such a scary thought! Do you have an evacuation plan, is your gas tank topped off?
I’m very guilty of not keeping my tank full, even though this should be high on the priority list.
Most evacuation stuff I keep in my buyout bag, but a good reminder to have a digital copy of scanned documents and important photos! 

Also it’s a good reminder to create a fire safe radius.
When not in a fire watch trim all cedars and pines at least 6ft if possible. Keep combustibles at a safe distance, such as remove any burnable mulch from home, clean gutters, move gas and propane tanks away from the house.
Advice even that I need to remind myself about!
