Beginning Wednesday, February 8, there will be no public open skating on Wednesday nights.
The skating classes and Stick n' Puck continue to be very well received and so Wednesday evenings will be open for those activities.
The Wednesday night schedule will be as follows:
3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Learn to skate classes
4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.: Junior Stick N' Puck, 16 and under
6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.: Adult Stick N' Puck, 16 and over, unless skills and parental support (in attendance) provided to those under 16
*First three goalies get free admission
Keep in mind that this is NOT a full fledged hockey game. HELMETS ARE MANDATORY!!! Face shields & gear are optional, however strongly encouraged!!! There will be NO full contact. This is designed for fun only.
Types of play being sought are stick handling, maybe small 3v3 scrimmages. Just enough to have fun.
You will need to bring your own gear, including stick. Rental skates are available for additional costs.
NOTE—— pucks will be provided by ice rink. The pucks that will be used are not actually hockey pucks. These pucks are the same size, and resemble a hockey puck. However they are made of a softer material, this will help ensure damage prevention to rink walls and nearby glass.
