We look forward to seeing these women gel together and show out on the field.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved teammate and family member, Zyana Flores-Thomas. Zee was not only a valued member of our rugby family but also a cherished friend, mentor, and inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She first toured with ROOTS in December of 2022 at Freetail 7s. It was her first time playing rugby since leaving Brown U and she looked like she had been playing with the family for years. She had an infectious smile and bright personality. Most of all, she was always unapologetically herself.

Further details regarding funeral or memorial arrangements will be shared once available.

May Zee rest in peace and power.

🚨Player Anouncement🚨
Last but certainly not least on our women’s rosters are:

1. Karameli Faaee
Karameli’s cv is an impressive one. From captaining USA in the 2017 Rugby World Cup to representing Samoa Rugby League and most recently coaching The Locals in PR 7s. We can be here all day with the amount of things she does for the game and our community . We are proud to say, she has and will (😆) only come out of retirement for ROOTS Rugby Family.

2. Tiana “Tee” Granby
While earning caps in two codes for USA Hawk and Manusina, Tee has spent the last few years playing in the WPL for New York. After taking some time off, she’s been training hard and eagerly waiting to take the field with the family in Vegas and representing that RBG!

3. Paris Hart
Paris stays contact ready! There’s no 0, only 100 + effort when she takes the field! League was made for her. She’s a capped USA Hawk, and earned MVP in their match against Canada. Most recently Paris has been selected to represent the Bay Breakers in the WER in their upcoming season, but first, time for your return to Vegas 9s with the family.

🚨Player Announcement🚨
The last of our men’s roster with some of our team’s OGs:

1. Coop Jackson
Here comes The Big Stepper, everyone’s favorite neighbor, Coop. After winning the Rugby 10s Championship with the Capetown Wild Dogs, he’s claiming nothing but W’s in 2025.

2. Bart Longchamp
The man with muscles on his muscles is taking a break from daddy duty and stepping back onto the pitch. We look forward to seeing him run through defenses, create plays and punish anyone who runs his way.

3. Aaron Fowler
Inglewood’s favorite son is starting to enjoy the rugby league life. He says he’ll only step on the field in league for ROOTS, so here we go again. Just let your Soul Glow!!!

4. Ty Elkins
The Carolina OG has missed himself some league. You can catch him at your local rugby tourney in any format 7s, 10s, and 15s, but 9s has a special place in his heart. If you saw what he did on his last tour with ROOTS, you’ll know he’s getting better with age.

5. Kyle Granby
KG is back! Winning in Vegas is a common theme for him. We’re happy to have him back in the RBG and representing with the family!

Next up on our women’s side we have:

1. Lina Lomu
If Vegas 9s remembers last year, they are definitely preparing for Lina’s arrival. She’s fearless, powerful and knows the game of rugby league. Our Tongan Rugby Union National player loves her some rugby league and is passionate about growing the game!

2. Josephine Asumang
Jo has been busy winning championships with her local club, playing in PR7s with the Loonies and now she is finally making her ROOTS Rugby Family debut. We have been waiting for this moment! It’s also her first rugby league experience 🎉

3. Mariko Moore
Always ready to suit up for the family. Rico, her “ROOTS only” nickname, is locked in for Vegas ! As a USA National Touch player we know she will be bringing the pace, creativity and elite skills to Vegas!

4. Danielle Pola Walko-Siua
Capped in two codes, USA Rugby League and for Tonga Rugby Union - No crumbs are ever left when she hits the field. Strong , powerful and a nasty step. We already know the fire that’s coming! “It’s 😈 time!”
