Spring break is a wrap, and that means…volleyball is back! 🙌🏐💚

This week, we will kick off our off-season schedule with spring training on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school.

🏐 Upcoming freshman (current 8th graders) are welcome and encouraged to participate.

🏐 All players must have a 2025/26 sports physical on file with the school (WHS/WMS)

🏐 Practice is set up as two separate hours to focus on developing specific skills and to help accommodate other sports practices.

🏐 Players can attend one or both hours, regardless of their position.

🏐 Skill plans are tentative and flexible depending on attendance and need.

We have so much to share with you so please forgive the long post!

*New Season Feb 15-April 25*
*4th and 5th graders*

🏐SIGNUPS🏐
We will have online sign-ups again this year! The form will be live on 12/1/2025 at 6pm and will be posted to this page. It will close on 01/01/2026 or when our teams are full.

🏐Cost🏐
$64. Yes this is a weird number. It is $60 plus a $4 cost for being able to have online signups. What do you get for $64 aside from online signups? Each adult coach in the league must go through a coaching course with the National Alliance for Youth Sports specific to volleyball and also receive a background check. They are also required to complete cardiac arrest and concussion training. We are also getting the same jerseys as last year which were sublimated and looked AH-MAZING. Your child will have 1 night of volleyball per week. We do NOT charge a gate fee to get into regular season games. There is only a gate fee for the end of the season tournament.

🏐Evaluations🏐
We will have evaluations in early January to evaluate the volleyball skills of all of our players so we can split up our teams adequately. The date for this will be posted on our page and also emailed out to participant families. Coaches will reach out to teams shortly after evaluations.

🏐Locations🏐
Mostly Winfield Middle School but may have a couple of different locations in Winfield/Teays Valley if needed. I will be able to put together a more definitive schedule by the end of the December/early January. I will put more info out regarding days and times as I am able to.

🏐Teams🏐
We plan to take 10 teams of 8-10 kids. There will be no late signups. Putting more than 10 kids on a team limits their playing time and we want them all to play as much as possible. We do have the ability to accomodate a couple more teams if needed but we will need to also have the coaches available to do so.

🏐Coaches🏐
We are looking for a couple more head coaches and also asst coach. Middle/HS students can assistant coach if they have volleyball experience. HS students can head coach if they do not have activities that would interfere and can be there most of their practice/game days. What do coaches get? Coaching training paid for by the league, free Tshirts, unlimited high fives, hugs, and smilesl

A huge THANK YOU to WHS PEP CLUB, as well as Coach Tarr and Winfield High School Boys Basketball for the support. We are so fortunate to be part of such an awesome school community — it really is great to be a General!

We want to send out a big thank you to Travis Tarr at Generations Physical Therapy/ Snap Fitness for buying the student section pizza tonight at the volleyball game!! Everyone come out and support them! Students get in for free!!!

The Generals are one win away from punching their ticket to States!

Tonight, the Gens will face the winner of St. Albans vs. Chapmanville, who play at 6 pm.

A win tonight = a trip to States and the title of Regional Co-Champions! 🙌
