Well… this was the weekend of the freeze.
Friday morning we kicked things off with one group that put together 12 ducks and a goose, so spirits were high and expectations were up heading into the weekend.
Saturday morning we ran two groups. For the first time all season, one group completely blanked, while the other group scratched out 8 birds. We headed back out that afternoon and managed to add 7 more to the bag.
Sunday morning was a 2 totally opposite hunts. One group had a great shoot, finishing with 31 birds, while the other group blanked… twice in what was supposed to be the best weekend of the year when we haven’t blanked twice in a weekend in 4 years. That afternoon, for the final hunt of the season, everything finally came together. New birds were pouring in, droves of them flying through the snow, and we finished the season strong by killing our limit.
All in all, this was by far the most difficult and challenging duck season we’ve had in our 4 years of business. It tested us every step of the way; but we adapted, learned, and grew because of it. We’ve got some big things in store for next season and can’t wait to show y’all what’s coming.
Season recap post coming later this week 👀🦆
