Roche-A-Cri is the place to be! In addition to six miles of hiking trails, Roche-A-Cri State Parks offers a variety of unique experiences. See and learn about petroglyphs and pictographs at the rock art observation area. “Roche-A-Cri” is French, meaning “crevasse in the rock” as described by early explorers. Climb 303 steps to the top of Roche-A-Cri Mound for panoramic views of the State Natural Area and ancient landscape.

A huge hats off to our STRONG member, Laura! She's been kicking it into high gear the past couple of months and is now in the TRIPLE DIGITS CLUB. Not only is she squatting 100 pounds, she's doing it free hand (pretty hard), and she rocks it for a set of 20!

A hearty high-five👏 goes to our STRONG member, Dana! In the past couple of months, Dana's put in a lot of work correcting basic movement patterns. Here she is doing Bottoms Up Presses to solidify her overhead position. Stability movements like this, will give her a better base to build upon as she continues to get STRONG.

Sending a shout out to our STRONG member, Ryan! In the past three months, Ryan’s put in a lot of work. He has corrected basic movement patterns and doubled the weight he uses in his workouts. Ryan is proof that having a plan and the dedication to stick with that plan, does wonders.

Back Pain

Given the conversations I've had with clients recently, I had to share this. If you've ever had a back injury, back pain, or a back tweak, what Stan says in this video is excellent advice.

These principles have changed my life. If you're ready to take responsibility for your spine health, I highly recommend the book he refers to, "The Back Mechanic" and the principles it provides.

Get stronger. Live longer.

I had a conversation this morning with a gym member who came in to try out STRONG. He mentioned that he needed to work on cardio as opposed to strength for his health. My response was, "No. You need both."

Strength and cardio respiratory fitness do not need to be mutually exclusive. You can and should seek to increase performance in both. This holds true for the average Joe to the elite ultra-marathoner. If you want to start the journey down the rabbit hole, I have linked a couple of articles that shed some light on the topic of strength and mortality.

Mon-Thurs 5 a.m.- 8 a.m. & 5 p.m.- 6 p.m.

&

Saturday 5 a.m. - 7 a.m.
