Hi WHS Softball, As I am sitting here putting together Tucker's senior picture board for softball I realize how long but fast it has all gone. She has been playing ball since she was 4 years old and now it is coming to an end for high school softball. Going into this season I told her to go out there and have fun! Go out there and play the game you love and stop worrying about the drama, the recruiters, playing time, coaches etc etc. While there has still been turmoil this year as we all know I believe this year she has had the most fun than she has had in previous years. I have had a few parents that have been around or seen her play for the last 4 years and they also commented how her passion and love for the game has really showed this year.
My point to sharing this with you all is during this last week or regular season, hopefully, postseason, and future high school softball career go out there and play for why you started playing this game. For the love of the game, the passion, the competition, or whatever your why is! Each one of you plays a part on this team. Whether you are the starting 9, a courtesy runner, or on the bench just waiting for your chance to play. You ALL play a role in the team and its success. I know many of you have thought about quitting, but you have stuck it out. Don't focus on the negatives! I look at the pictures that parents have taken this year and have been posted on this page. Again there have been ups and downs, but you girls have fought the whole way with perseverance and determination. You have supported each other through the good and the bad. Go out there and have fun and let your passion for the game show to everyone for the rest of your career, however, long or short that may be! What do you have to lose???
