Instead of winter hats and turtlenecks, golfers wore shorts and sunglasses for this year’s Jim Lane Assistants Appreciation Day Tournament. For the first time in tournament history, the event was played in August, putting a bow on the 2026 golf schedule. With the golf course renovation project beginning on Monday, we have successfully completed every member golf tournament. Today’s event is a fun way to wrap up the season, with men and women competing together and supporting our great assistant golf professionals. A huge thank you goes out to Andy, Brennan, Ryan, Matt and Carter for their work throughout this abbreviated (but very busy) season. And kudos to all WCC departments who helped make this shortened golf season the very best it could be.

Thank you to all 132 players who came out for golf on this perfect mid-summer day. Congratulations goes out to all of our 2026 men’s champions recognized during the post-golf brunch. ⛺️🌙⛳️🙏

Congratulations to everyone who participated in our season-long Summer Four-Ball Tournament! We wrapped up the championship match on Monday afternoon as our two finalists battled it out to determine our 2026 champions. The teams of Jill Buck & Katie Ragosa and Aliki Broderick & Kat Zeiler earned their spots in the finals after making impressive runs through their respective sides of the bracket.

The match began as a tightly contested battle, with the teams halving each of the first four holes. Jill and Katie then gained momentum by winning the fifth and sixth holes to take a two-up lead. Aliki and Kat responded by winning the seventh to cut the deficit to one, but Jill and Katie answered by capturing the eighth hole and made the turn with a two-up advantage.

On the back nine, Jill and Katie continued their strong play. Victories on the 10th and 12th holes extended their lead, and after halving the 14th hole, they closed out the match to secure the championship. Congratulations to our runners-up, Aliki Broderick & Kat Zeiler, on a terrific tournament, and a huge congratulations to our 2026 Summer Four-Ball Champions, Jill Buck & Katie Ragosa! 🏌️‍♀️🏆🏌️‍♀️

The season long Fall Cup has come to a close. Congratulations to Rudy Landry for defeating defending champion, Brian Golden, in the final match of the Fall Cup on Sunday July 26th. Golden started the match off hot, winning four out of the first six holes and taking an early 3up lead into the 7th hole. Landry came right back on a hot streak of his own, winning the next three holes to get the match back to all square heading into the back 9. After alternating wins for four holes, the pair came to the 14th tee tied once again. But it was there that Landry pulled away, winning holes 14 through 16 to secure a 3&2 victory to become the 2026 Fall Cup Champion. This is the second Fall Cup trophy that will go up on Landry’s mantle, as he won the title in 2006. 🏆

The unofficial WCC “Parent Child Week” came to a close today with 120 players teeing it up at the Father & Daughter Tournament. And while the golf was incredible, the laughs and smiles were even bigger, as it seemed like all our participants had an absolute blast. Speaking of incredible golf, congratulations to our 2026 Co-Champions, Bill & Taylor Shean and Mike Santonelli & Maddy Nolan. Both teams shot rounds of 78 to share the top prize. For the Shean’s, this is their third straight title and fourth win overall. Santonelli & Nolan have also raised the trophy, the first time being in 2022. Great playing ladies and gentlemen!

A big congrats goes out to our divisional winners:

18-Hole Net – Jim Maloney & Kate Albiani
9-Hole Senior Gross – Paul & Mary Lou Coakley
9-Hole Senior Net – Bill & Catie Kotwicki

On a week that gave us far from perfect weather, one team put together a near perfect round to win the 108th Father & Son Invitational. The round of the tournament came from Craig & Carson Muse, who fired a 3-under par 68 on Wednesday. The duo got off to an incredible start, with Carson driving the first green and making an easy birdie. Birdies on the 2nd and 6th hole helped team Muse get to three under par early in the round. They would then string together a streak of 12 straight pars to finish the round and take the clubhouse lead on Wednesday night.

While much of the field admired the Muse’s bogey-free round in this challenging selected drive alternate shot format, there were still several good teams playing on the final day while the Muse’s watched the leaderboard carefully on Thursday. The biggest scare of the day came from Scott & Trevor Lopez. The 2024 champs made a birdie on the 12th hole and an eagle on the 13th hole to get to 2-under for the round, but could not get any closer down the stretch, finishing with a 69. As the sun went down and the rest of the contenders came off the golf course, the lone team left standing was Craig & Carson Muse, our champions of the 108th playing of the Father & Son Invitational.

Thank you to the 710 competitors who teed it up this week. We appreciated your patience during the rain delays on Tuesday and Wednesday, and kudos to those who came back to finish each morning. The determination to complete rounds in the rain, in the dark, or in the early morning is admirable. Congratulations to all of our divisional winners and a special congrats goes out to Kyle Cummings for making a hole-in-one on the 9th hole this Thursday! 😀🏌️🏌️‍♂️🏆👏

This weekend’s Senior Club Championship had a little bit of everything. Smokey haze, driving rain and high winds were just some of the weather conditions the players had to deal with. But in the end, three clear champions were crowned.

In the Gross Division, Joe Peters won his third Senior Club Championship in 5 years, coming from behind shooting rounds of 76-80 to overtake first round leader and defending champion Ray Garrahan by three strokes. Peters’ birdies on the 12th and 17th holes during the final round helped the eventual champ forged ahead and grab the championship.

In the Net Division, Paul Coakley also overcame a first round deficit, winning his first Senior Club Championship. Coakley finished the tournament at even par with rounds of 72-70 for a two-shot win over Frank Farone and Bill Crowe.

For Peters and Coakley, these separate victories on the same day are fitting, as the duo came so close to winning the prestigious Abbott tournament together in May, losing in the final match.

And in the Super Senior Division, Rudy Landry took advantage of his impressive first round 67 to bring home his second Super Senior title. He fired a second round 75 to finish at even par, good enough to top runner-up Paul Albiani by 6 shots.

Congratulations to these three champions! 🏆🏆🏆

A little smoke from Canada and rain from the heavens didn’t stop 42 teams from competing in this year’s Mother & Child Tournament. While we had to endure a two-hour rain delay, our golfers still fired some great scores in the selected drive alternate shot format.

Congrats to the following teams for winning their respective divisions:

18-Hole Division – Emma & Owen Egan
*shortened to 9 holes due to weather
Senior 9-Hole Division – Katie & Jack Bosco
Teen 9-Hole Division – Aliki & Ben Broderick
Junior Division – Maria & Ryan Baughman

Huge thanks goes out to our Tournament Chairs, Abbie Culhane and Debbie Leavitt (with a big assist from Ava Juwa as well) for running a fantastic tournament. This kicks off eight exciting days of parent-child events at the Club. We look forward to making some more great memories! 🏌️‍♀️❤️🏌️‍♂️👏

On the heels of seeing some great golf during this week’s Massachusetts Amateur, our junior golfers brought their “A games” in this year’s Junior Club Championship. In fact, the opening round of the Boys Championship Division was contested on the very same course setup that our two Mass Am finalists played. Which made Will Ferrari’s first round score of 2-under par 69 even more impressive. William jumped out to a 4-stroke lead over Owen Shea heading into today’s final round. As the boys made the turn on Sunday, Owen had erased that deficit and headed to the back nine tied with William. But Owen would cease the championship on a five-hole stretch that included an eagle on the 12th hole and birdies on the 14th and 16th, finishing with a 69 and a two-round total of even par 142, only two off the tournament record. Congratulations to Owen on winning his first Junior Club Championship!

On Saturday afternoon, 18 holes were contested to determine our Girls Championship Division Club Champion. Playing the tough, Mass Am final match hole locations, Amelia Boutwell came out on top with a score of 97. Amelia finished bogey-bogey-par to overtake runner-up (and defending champ) Audrey Houllahan and 3rd place finisher Stella Shea (birdie on #9). Emma Wignell rounded out the top 4.

With the Mass Am final match being pushed to Saturday due to weather, our youngest golfers teed it up on the Wee Course. And boy did they play well! Starting in the Boys Pre-Junior Division (12 holes), Seamus Maher finished strong with a backside 24 for a total of 53 and a 5-stroke victory over Ben Albiani. In the Girls Pre-Junior Division, Liv Pandolfo fired consistent rounds of 28 and 29 for a 12-hole total of 57 and a 5-stoke win over runner-up Genevieve Chin. Emily Albiani and Quinn O’Brien tied for 3rd. And finally, in the Young Boys Division, six players finished within 3 shots of each in this 6-hole tournament. In the end, it was Warren Boutwell’s birdie on the 5th hole that helped him secure the one-shot victory over three other junior golfers, Max Albiani, Teddy Chin and Liam Wignell. Andrew Albiani and Cooper Clare finished in 5th with a 32. Congrats to all of our juniors!
