Four more champions have been crowned in our Ladies Member-Member. The unique ringer format allows our ladies to come back to see if they can beat their hole by hole best ball gross & net scores from last week.

There was plenty of excitement on the gross side as we had two teams come in tied for the lead. The teams of Mary Snow & Kathy Martini and Emily McCafferty & Lauren Dowley finished the final round at a grand total of 76. So we headed back out to the first tee for a playoff. After a tie on the 1st hole, Mary Snow made a smooth par on the 2nd playoff hole to secure the win for team Snow & Martini!

On the net side, our winning team played so well last week they didn’t even need to improve this week! CONGRATS to our Net Champs Jill Buck & Kim Tashjian. Their net score of 58 was good for a one shot win over the runner-up team of Joanne Ramsey & Marjorie Estridge. Unlike our winning team, the runners-up improved their net score by 10 shots in the final round! 🏆 🏆🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♀️🙌

For the 5th time in the past 7 years, Christine Mandile is our Ladies Club Champion! Christine backed up her incredible first round 3-under par 71, with an equally impressive even par 74 as high winds and fast greens made the course more challenging in the final round. This is the third time that Mandile has finished the tournament with a two-day aggregate score that was under par.

Mandile got off to a bit of a slow start in the final round, making three early bogeys. But she rebounded midway through the round with birdies on the 8th, 9th, 10th, 14th and 15th holes as she distanced herself from the rest of the field.

17-time champion, Tracy Welch, was our runner-up for the second year in row and our reigning Ladies Senior Club Champion, Mary Snow, finished in 3rd place. Rounding out the top 4 was Hamilton College star, Amy Lyon.

Michael Baughman & Chris LaGatta are Abbott champions! Widely considered the most coveted men’s title at WCC, the Abbott is a member member match play event played over six days. Baughman & LaGatta defeated four strong opponents on the way to the final match versus Paul Coakley & Joe Peters. The eventual champs got off to a hot start. The duo won the 1st hole following LaGatta’s amazing up and down for net birdie. Baughman would strike next, draining a 45-foot putt for eagle on the 2nd. After three holes tied, Baughman made easy birdies on the 6th and 7th holes, taking a 4 up lead to the 8th tee box. The team even extended the lead to 5 up after Baughman’s 15-foot birdie putt on the 11th. But Coakley & Peters did not give up. Peters made natural birdies on the 12th and 14th holes. And following a great two-putt for par from Coakley on the 15th hole, Baughman & LaGatta’s lead had shrunk to 3 up. But alas, the winning team was just too tough, finishing off the match on the 16th hole for a 3&2 victory. This is the first WCC men’s major that Baughman & LaGatta have teamed up to win. With more rounds like today’s final, there could be many more titles in their future. 🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♂️⛺️🌙🏆🤜🤛

Bad weather and a move to the spring due to the golf course renovation project didn’t stop us from crowning very deserving Mixed Fall Classic champions this year. Congratulations to Bobby & Olivia Carson for coming out on the top in our most popular mixed event of the season. While rain, wind and cold conditions foiled day two of the tournament, the Carson’s used their incredible round of 30 in the scramble portion of the event to beat one of the field’s strongest squads, Pat & Maura Galvin, by one stroke. Kudos to our six flight winners as well:

CONGRATS to our 2026 Sachem Cup Champion Christine Donahue! Christine started round two with a bang, making three net birdies and a net eagle on the front nine to shoot a net 32! She was determined to get the job done today and kept things together on the back nine, coming home with a net 41 for a final score of one under 73. Nothing like being the only player under par today and winning the event in style! Her total score of 147 was good for a six shot victory over our runner-up Kat Zeiler. 🏆🏌️‍♀️👏⛺️🌙

CONGRATS to our 2026 Senior Champion Mary Snow! Mary shot an 85 in round one, and started the second round with a two shot lead. She started out the front nine with a few blemishes, but got things back on track with four straight pars to go out in 42. Mary did not let today’s heat get the best of her, and had a steady back nine that she closed out with another three straight pars to shoot a 43 on the back nine. She matched her score in round one, coming in with another 85 for round number two. Mary is the queen of consistency! Her final tally of 170 was good for a three stroke victory over our Runner-Up (in a card off with Christine Donahue) Jackie Hennessey. 🏌️‍♀️🏆👏
