When some look at the biomechanics of baseball players to improve performance, coaches may fall into the trap of using directives that are only theoretically logical. For example, when coaching someone on how to get a better jump for baserunning, your instinct might be to eliminate a drop step so that the first move is towards the base.

Seems logical, right?

Unless of course doing so limits the power they can produce.

The lowering of the center of gravity and repositioning of the feet and angles of the legs allows more force to be applied AND at a better angle for acceleration.

This doesn't just apply to running and stealing bases. Track the barrel of the best hitters and see if it draws a straight line to the ball.

The generation of power happens in different planes with curves in the biomechanics.

This video, particularly at the end demonstrates this another way. So, before you start correcting movement, make sure you aren't working against the athlete's body.

It's a big name, but the isochronous curve deserves it. Rob shows you how to draw one easily and then how to investigate its extraordinary properties.

It's that time of year, again. We are currently taking applications for one individual to go through our extreme transformation plan.

This has been a year of challenges, emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual. This is our way of giving back.

When people think of extreme transformation when it comes to physical fitness they think of weight loss. While that can certainly be a goal, and we want to help anyone take back their health in that way; it is not the only qualifier for this program.

So if you or anyone you know is looking for radical change in their lifestyle and needs help with exercise, weight loss, nutrition, or healthy habits, then contact us asap. This is a once-per-year program that we offer at no charge to the individual. Candidates will be assessed and chosen based on need, willingness to commit to the program, and their personal journey.

There is no objective standard for who gets picked. We will make our decision based on a number of factors that may give us a good idea of the potential for success.

Any applicant needs to be willing to commit to having their habits challenged, adjusting their daily routine, weekly goal setting, monthly interviews and analysis, changes in nutrition, and daily commitments to exercise programming.

As some of these topics can be sensitive in nature, I ask that you do not tag individuals in this post. If you'd like to share this post with a group, I ask that you do so in order that we increase the potential to reach someone who may desperately need help.

Also, do not reach out to us on behalf of someone else. Any applicant needs to make this decision on their own and should not feel pressured to do so, even by well-meaning people.
