CALLING ALL PLAYERS, COACHES AND LITTLE LEAGUE FAMILIES - PAST AND PRESENT!!

Tomorrow, August 39, 2026, marks the end of an era. After a quarter century of serving, literally serving, the little leaguers of Wi******er and the surrounding areas, tomorrow’s junior high softball game will be Nancy McGee‘s last game in the concession stand. She’s finally hanging up her hot dog tongs and taking a step back from the concession stand.

Tomorrow’s game starts at 10 AM. We’d like to get as many of her current and past players, coaches and families to swing by the stand for one last hotdog, walking taco or sloppy nacho and to say goodbye and reminisce on Nancy’s years of dedication. I’ve been told there will also be hamburgers and pork chops available.

Please come out and show your appreciation for the BEST CONCESSION STAND FOR MILES AROUND!!

This is why we love this community so much. Less than 24 hours after posting asking for sponsors, we now stand at 18!

That is amazing, thank you so much to all of the businesses and individuals who have reached out to sponsor. It’s really nice to be in a position to have to figure out how to put multiple sponsors on an individual team. Your generosity allows us to do more and provide better for our team teams.

We will be reaching out to each of you with invoices and instructions for payment options. Please be watching for those in the next few days

Again thank you all for being so willing to help out the youth of this community. Given the way, this community responds, I really shouldn’t be surprised, but it’s still humbling

We are looking for team sponsors for this 2026 season. Sponsorships help offset the costs of uniforms and equipment. We have 11 teams this year, and are looking for 9 more sponsors. Holmes Hounds LLC and MECO Engineering have already signed on for the season. Please reach out if your business would like to join them.

The cost is $100 and that fee gets your company name or logo on the teams jerseys and the team will be identified by the sponsor name for scheduling purposes.

March 8-18th Scheels is offering 20% off baseball and hopefully softball stuff. Tell them it’s for Central Vally baseball and ask the person working in the baseball department to give you the coupon to take to the register. This isn’t to benefit anyone but you the buyer and gives a 20% discount.

Who's ready to play ball?

I know it's cold outside, but registration for the 2026 Little League season opens tomorrow, Feb 1, and runs through March 1.

The big kids (9-12 year olds) start in April, while the little ones (5-8 year olds) start in May with T-ball and Coach Pitch.

Schedules will be out after sign-ups close, so don't worry.

If you want to coach, let Kevin Garnett, Sam Ford, or Bryan Hubbert know, and make sure to put it on your player's registration. And if you want to sponsor a team, reach out to those same guys.

Flyers will be coming home from school this week, so keep an eye out.

As I stand here watching an exceptional Jr High Sectional game between Athens and Calhoun, I am filled with gratitude reflecting on the incredible baseball and softball experiences we've shared on this field since mid-March. The spring and summer may have been long, but the journey has been truly rewarding.

I extend my sincerest appreciation to all the players, parents, fans, coaches, and volunteers who made this season possible. Thank you to the Wi******er Schools and the Cougar Boosters for providing world-class facilities that have elevated our experience. We are fortunate to have such exceptional facilities.

As we begin to wrap up the season, I encourage all Little League coaches to return their gear, enabling us to transition to the new storage building made possible by the WLL, Cougar Boosters, and the School. Please drop off your equipment in the red shed and leave your key. Kindly notify me when you've dropped it off or if you have any questions.

Be on the lookout for 2026 WLL updates starting in January. If you're inspired to coach or volunteer, please reach out to Sam Ford, Bryan Hubbert, or myself.

And just like that, our local Little League season has come to a close. We still have some All Stars playing but our WLL season is done. We started back in Mid April. Between 12 teams we played somewhere north of 100 games

We give our sincere thanks to all the volunteers who make this program possible. We couldn’t make any of this happen without all the time and effort put in behind the scenes.
