As I stand here watching an exceptional Jr High Sectional game between Athens and Calhoun, I am filled with gratitude reflecting on the incredible baseball and softball experiences we've shared on this field since mid-March. The spring and summer may have been long, but the journey has been truly rewarding.

I extend my sincerest appreciation to all the players, parents, fans, coaches, and volunteers who made this season possible. Thank you to the Wi******er Schools and the Cougar Boosters for providing world-class facilities that have elevated our experience. We are fortunate to have such exceptional facilities.

As we begin to wrap up the season, I encourage all Little League coaches to return their gear, enabling us to transition to the new storage building made possible by the WLL, Cougar Boosters, and the School. Please drop off your equipment in the red shed and leave your key. Kindly notify me when you've dropped it off or if you have any questions.

Be on the lookout for 2026 WLL updates starting in January. If you're inspired to coach or volunteer, please reach out to Sam Ford, Bryan Hubbert, or myself.

And just like that, our local Little League season has come to a close. We still have some All Stars playing but our WLL season is done. We started back in Mid April. Between 12 teams we played somewhere north of 100 games

We give our sincere thanks to all the volunteers who make this program possible. We couldn’t make any of this happen without all the time and effort put in behind the scenes.

Updates for the remainder of the week:

Games and Wi******er have been canceled for tonight due to wet field conditions.

We will not have concessions for Friday night’s 10 u games versus Pittsfield. Nancy‘s brother passed away last Friday and the visitation will be held Friday evening. The restrooms will be open, but we will not have concessions. Please plan accordingly.

It’s a busy week at the ball field. Tonight we have baseball action with the Wi******er Black Minors hosting Chaplin at 6pm followed by the Wi******er Black Majors hosting Chaplin at 7:30.

Tomorrow we see softball action with a 10i double header. First, at 6pm the 10u Wi******er Black team plays host to Triopia followed by the Wi******er Gray 10u taking on that same Triopia team at 7:30.

Wednesday at 6 we have another 10u softball as Wi******er Black faces off against Wi******er Gray in a makeup if Friday night’s rainout

We round out the week on Thursday with Minors baseball as Pleasant Hill travels to Wi******er to take on our Wi******er Gray team.

Come down any night this week and catch some great Little League action and stop by the best concession stand around for a bite to eat.

Monday 4/26 update:

This afternoon our Lady Cougars host the Pleasant Hill Lady Wolves in WIVC Softball action. Immediately following that game, we have a 10u baseball matchup with Wi******er Gray hosting Chapin.

The concession stand will be open and serving all of your favorites.... walking tacos, nachos, pretzels, and their famous 1/4 pound jumbo hot dogs. As a special treat, they will also have chocolate chip cookies from Bizzy B's Kitchen.

It should be a great night at the ball field.

It’s a busy evening at the ballfield tonight. First, our Lady Cougars host Greenfield in high school softball action. We follow that game with 10 U Little League baseball action as our Wi******er Black team hosts Pittsfield.

Come down to the ballfield for some great softball and baseball action. Be sure to stop off at the concession stand where they’ll be serving all their usual fare, including hotdogs, walking tacos, sloppy nachos, pretzels…and of course, candy, popcorn and drinks!

Get your Wi******er Little League fan gear from the Geared Up Spirit Store at the link below. The store will be open until May 6. Geared Up will take care of shipping, or you can pick up in-store in Pittsfield. There will be a QR code posted in the concession stand while the store is open. A portion of the proceeds will go back to the Wi******er Little League. Thank you all for your support, and let's have a great season.

Schedules are complete, uniforms are on order, and should be arriving soon. That means there is only one thing left to do for our 10u and 12u Softball, and Majors and Minors Baseball.

Our Minors and Majors Baseball teams kick off the action on Thursday with cross town rivalries.

Come on down to the ballfield on Thursday 4/17 as the Minors take the field first at 6pm followed by the Majors at 7:30. schedule for Majors and Minors Baseball and for 10u and 12 u softball are attached.

Little League signups are going on now until the end of February. All sign us this year are done online at http://leagues.bluesombrero.com/tricountylittleleagueil

Age brackets are:
T-ball: League Age 5-6
Coach Pitch: League Age 7-8
Minors: League Age 9-10
Majors: League Age 11-12

League age differs for Baseball/T-ball and Softball. Boys and girls will play T-ball together and will use the Baseball age chart.
