Indiana Mavericks Come Up Short Against NWO Lady Buckeyes
Mavericks lost to Buckeyes 5-1 on Sunday at Paul G. Duke Park.
Mavericks were the first to get on the board in the third when Paige Felver lined out, scoring one run.
Buckeyes flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 5-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Jenna Wannamacher that drove in two.
Lexis Metcalfe earned the win for Buckeyes. The right-handed pitcher gave up two hits and one run over three innings, striking out three and walking three. Devin Campbell took the loss for Mavericks. The starter went three innings, surrendering four runs (zero earned) on two hits, striking out one and walking none.
Felver and Doll each collected one hit for Mavericks. Felver led Mavericks with one run batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-2 on the day.
Mia Mammone, Wannamacher, Lilli Guisinger, and Mar Haynes each collected one hit for Buckeyes. Wannamacher and Guisinger each drove in two runs for Buckeyes.
