Is it really the middle of June already? We haven’t been as productive as we’d like lately, but here’s a full collaboration project we finished back in April. It’s hard to tell in the pictures, but the koa has some nice chatoyance in the sunlight. — Brody

I put this one off longer than I should have, mostly because I didn’t know what to do about all the gouges caused by a hungry squirrel or other rodent — you can still see the teeth marks near the burr in the fourth picture. I ended up cutting the antler short and stacking leather to fill out the rest of the handle. It feels good to have this one finished.

One more this week. It was hard to capture the detail in this piece of midnight maple burl, so I included a bunch of angles — plus, I just like the way the sunlight bounces off the facets.

Details: W2 steel with a hamon, midnight maple burl handle, ivory paper micarta and bronze spacers, copper corby bolts, and black micarta liners.

This one will be available when I get a chance to add it to the site.

Here’s a custom order I wrapped up this week. The steel is W2 with a hamon; Texas mesquite for the handle; with micarta, copper, and jade composite for the spacer.

Hope y’all are enjoying these cooler days as much as I am.

This might be our first full collaboration knife. Brady made a small billet of twist pattern damascus and sent it to me. I had just enough material to squeeze out one of my smaller profiles and decided to use some stag on the handle. My dad (Paul) made the hand-tooled sheath.

The maple burl on this Heeler has a darker and richer hue than usual, with flecks of lighter wood throughout. I'm not sure where it picked up the color, but I like it.

I went with a black pin, lanyard tube, and liners, with a layer of bluish gray G10 to give it a splash of color.

This one just hit the site this morning.

You don't come across burl like the amboyna on this Heeler too often. The sapwood was dyed green during the stabilization process, giving it a super cool effect. I paired it up with yellow G10 and vintage micarta liners, along with a star mosaic pin.

I finished this one up around the beginning of the year, but it didn't stick around long enough for me to get it listed.
