Another memorable full week of fun with happy hunters and a huge shout out to all our hunters & guides for a remarkable week. And a special thank you to guide (Jim Little) as he got a hat trick on Monday evening 3 hunters & 3 bear, M.V.G.(most valuable guide) for the week. All joking aside all of these guides are phenomenal in what they do.

3rd week of bear camp was a great time as usual. We had a few new faces this week.
We had a group of 3 Frank Pascoe and his 2 sons,Joseph Pascoe and Kenny Pascoe all 3 got their bears the same evening which made a great picture.
Another group of 3 Jason Undereiner,Jason Cevarr and Andrew Elder all 3 got their bears. Jason Undereiner harvested his 1st bear with his bow and his 2nd with a gun. Brian Henry, this is his 2nd year in a row.
Dave Peltier and keith Proulx have been hunting here with us many years Dave actually started hunting here in the early 80’s with Sonny Wade. Jaye and I bought the lodge from Sonny in 1989 and Dave probably only missed 2 years from then to now close to 35 years with us. Peter Flanagan , Rich Lewis, Rich Lothrup, Jay Romer, John Lovisone, Tim Papovich, John Oblick, Ron and Lisa
Terry Faggio came up just to fish this week always a great time and lots of laughter 😂 we missed Jack Gorham this year as he wasn’t able to make it. Terry, Dave Peltier and Keith Proulx provided us with a fish fry on Friday evening to finish out the week.
Weeks like this is what it’s all about the camaraderie, great friends and lots of laughter making memories and story telling.

2nd week of Spring Bear

Congratulations to all hunters and guides well done!
6 bear harvested all bear recovered with every hunter having opportunities and some with multiple chances. Some actually seeing 5 to 6 bear.
Dennis Gareis comes 2 different weeks each year in hopes to harvest 2 bears which he has been lucky enough to do for the last 3 or 4 year’s. The tree’s are just starting to leaf out, the bug’s have stared which always makes for great hunting.
Special thanks to all the guides and to Tony whose hunters all tagged out by Wednesday.

We had 8 hunters with 17 bears offering opportunities. With 5 bears harvested and 3 others unrecovered. Everyone having an opportunity.

Someone recently asked me why I like Trump. My answer was that I don't always like Trump. I don't like the way he speaks sometimes. But this election is not about choosing the most likeable person.

We are voting between two vastly different ideologies. We are voting for the country we want to leave our children and grandchildren.

Trump represents that future and has proven that he can deliver. He is a patriot to the core and even served his country for 4 years without pay.

After being asked this question a few times by colleagues and friends, even family members, I thought about actually putting it in writing. Then I came across this....( I'm sure it's been copied and edited and pasted many times, but it's a start.

That moment when someone says,
"I can't believe you're voting for Trump". I simply reply, “I'm NOT voting for Trump.”

I'm voting for the First Amendment and freedom of speech. I'm voting for the right to speak my opinion and not be censored.

I’m voting for secure borders and LEGAL immigration. I am voting for election integrity to include mandatory voter ID. (Why would anyone vote against this?)

I'm voting for the Second Amendment and my right to defend my life and my family.

I'm voting for the police to be respected once again.

I am voting for law & order and an end to allowing protesters to trespass and burn our cities, destroying innocent small business. (Tim Walz)

I am voting for personal responsibility and the end of the revolving door where criminals are being put back on the street. (Kamala Harris)

I'm voting for the next Supreme Court Justice(s) to protect the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

I’m voting for a return of our troops from foreign countries.

I'm voting for the Electoral College and for the Republic in which we live.

I’m voting for the continued appointment of Federal Judges who respect the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

I’m voting for keeping our jobs to remain in America and not be outsourced all over the world - to China, Mexico and other foreign countries.

I am voting for doing away with all of the freebies given to all of the illegals and not looking after the needs of the American citizens and homeless veterans.

I'm voting for the Military & the Veterans who fought for this country!

I'm voting to keep men out of women's sports.

I’m voting for peace progress in the Middle East.

I’m voting to fight against human/child trafficking.

I'm voting for Freedom of Religion.

I am voting for the return of teaching math, history, and science instead of the indoctrination of our children.

I'm not just voting for one person.
I'm voting for the future of my Country.🇺🇸

I'm voting for my children and my grandchildren to ensure their freedoms

America is the greatest country in the world, hense why everyone wants to immigrate here. So why do you want to change it?

Why do politicians want to enact policies that have failed in other countries throughout history?

I'm not voting for Trump.

Week 7 here in New Brunswick for spring Bear at Sunset View Lodge on Palfrey Lake. We had a great group of hunters. The temperatures were very hot this week as we had temperatures in the 90’s for a couple days. Needless to say when it’s that hot here I can’t imagine it anywhere else because this is the coolest place I know! Dennis Gareis returned back for his 2nd bear with us this spring he was here 3 weeks ago and harvested a bear. He hunts 2 weeks every spring.

I’d like to acknowledge Rob Little as on Monday evening Rob was tagged out with his hunters he got a (Hat trick).
On the same note all our guides have done an exceptional job as always!
I can’t ask for any better guides and woodsman than these men and it shows when our clients and friends leave at the end of the week they are reserving the following year for the same week and asking for the same guides to me that says a lot. In our business we are only as good as our guides.

We started off Monday morning with a little excitement when Tony caught Dave while fishing, just doing some catch and release. After a short trip to the ER.

Biggest bear this week was 310lbs
Some really nice bear seen but unable to make the shots as we had a lot of bow hunters in camp this week. As we know when bow hunting it can be a little more difficult. Bigger bear are now starting to move more as we are coming into the rut, these bigger males have other things on there minds when visiting the bait sites this time of year you are very apt to see multiple bears at a time. Hopefully it all comes together to make a successful hunt.

4th week of Spring Bear
Another phenomenal week bear hunting and fishing, some of which came to fish and spending time with each other. Jack Gorham brought his grandson Noah along to hunt Jack was able to sit and watch his grandson harvest his 1st bear. Jack has harvested many bears in the past, still loves to come and fish along with Terry Faggio who also has harvested many bear’s with us. This week of hunters comes every year adding a few new faces.

Update on our 3rd week

We started on a very sad note as we got word of the passing of Jaye’s dad
Phil. He has been a huge inspiration to both Jaye and I, he took much pride in his ability to cook and prepare meals and passing on some of his recipes that she uses daily. He started out baiting for us when he retired from the paper mill, Jaye convinced him he could even fish when he got his baiting done (he called her a liar) Lol as baiting never got done.
Such a great loss to a great man!
That was Sunday as we were all standing around the fire pit cooking our steaks.
On a positive note we had a great week of hunting with 52 opportunities, 15 bears harvest 3 unrecovered and 1 miss.
Lisa had a bear come up from behind her and with out moving a muscle she sat completely still as the bear was sniffing her neck. And Dan had 1 climb his stand.
