New boat operation rules are in effect for the Newberg Pool (Willamette River in Marion, Clackamas, and Yamhill Counties) and boaters will start noticing new signs, complete with a QR code for smartphones, outlining the zones for operation based on your location! There will also be tear-off flyers at nearby boat ramps and QR code cards being handed out by facility owners. To top it off, special buoys will be placed outlining different zones of operation, once the water levels recede. Special emphasis marine patrols will also take place during the summer months.

The Oregon State Marine Board will be holding an additional rule hearing in Clackamas to gather testimony on proposed statewide rules of operation for wake sports.
