This one hurts!! One of the brightest lights in our studio is off to new adventures, and if we seem a little extra sad this week, it’s because we’re in Jamie’s final days in her role here at WYC.
For the past two years, Jamie has been such a consistent presence of love, kindness, and calm in our studio. She has been a steady presence for our students and, behind the scenes, the grounding energy that somehow managed to balance out the rest of the team’s chaos. (And honestly, putting up with our chaos for two years deserves recognition of its own.)
Jamie is diligent, thoughtful, gentle, intelligent, and deeply kind. But one of our favorite parts of working alongside her has been watching more and more of her personality shine through. Somewhere along the way, that quiet demeanor started giving way to humor, wit, and laugher. The more layers she let us see, the more we fell in love with her.
And what an honor it has been to watch her grow. We’ve watched Jamie step into herself, in her role on our staff, in her teaching, and in the confidence with which she moves through both. We are so proud of the teacher and woman she has become, even if we selfishly wish we could keep her right here.
Jamie is moving on to her next chapter closer to family, and while saying goodbye is hard, we wish the best for her!
Jamie, you are truly one of a kind. Thank you for your steadiness, your humor, your laugh, and the countless ways you’ve cared for this place and the people in it. You will always, always have a place here. We love you Jamie!!
