Cape Fear Isshin-ryu Karate & After-school Program Cape Fear Isshin-Ryu was formed in 2001 and through the power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ we have continued to grow. What do we teach?

We offer Kids and Adult classes, After-school karate, and Summer Camps. Isshinryu Karate is an Okinawan system of self-defense created by Grand Master Tatsuo Shimabuku. Our style focuses on a balance of hand and foot techniques with a heavy emphasis on self defense.Our goal is to give individual attention to every child's needs and we work hard to see that your child progresses in their martial ar

ts training. Students will earn rank based on their dedication and ability to perform what they have learned. When a student earns a new rank, there is a very real sense of accomplishment and pride in what they have done. As with almost all martial arts schools, we emphasize self-control and an increase on social skills. We achieve this through karate training as well as the interaction of organized games. Cape Fear Isshin-Ryu Afterschool Program provides a rich and secure learning environment that will help your child make the most of their afterschool hours. Our program combines supervised homework and study time with a organized games and a well balanced curriculum in the martial arts.

Our Summer Camp Program offers karate 4-5 days per week and daily participation in active play such as dodgeball, nerf, frisbee tag, obstacle courses, team building exercises and more.
Our field trips include swimming at the Robert Strange Pool, Time at the Park and Scooters Skate (skates included...OR bring a scooter & the snack bar will be open).

Cape Fear Isshin-Ryu offers a summer karate camp for elementary and middle school aged students. Registration is limited. Our program offers karate for over an hour each day and participation in active play such as dodge ball, nerf games, frisbee tag, obstacle courses, team building exercises, sword fighting, and more. In addition we will take field trips and have special activities and mini camps (ex. our eagerly anticipated week of Dodgeball Camp). Our daily field trips will include, but are not limited to sword fighting at the park, skating, swimming, and more!

Sorry for the late notice, but we just got the notification. Since the school has closed for inclement weather, our policy is to close as well. We will see everyone on Wednesday.
