John Mendez PONY Baseball

Located in the heart of Wilmington California, John Mendez baseball Park has been a staple in the community for more than 50+ years. Originally named Gibson park in the early 60's, the rich history that is Baseball always had a special connection with the city of Wilmington. Baseball has always been the go to sport that united family's to loving the game and it's values.

Keeping with tradition we bring you now to the present and the now named John Mendez Baseball park this is the home of many new and talented up and coming young All-Stars. We take pride in our community and we will never turn away any child. We are a park that thrives on teaching and nurturing our children so they can build character and passion in anything they apply them selves to.

🚨 WILMINGTON PONY BASEBALL NEEDS YOUR HELP 🚨

Unfortunately, sometime between 9:00 PM last night and 6:00 AM this morning, someone broke into our league facilities and stole several tools. They also damaged some of our lighting, apparently to make it easier to go unnoticed in the dark. 💔

We are a nonprofit youth baseball league, run by volunteers who work hard to provide a safe place for our kids to play. We rely heavily on our community, donations, volunteers, and fundraisers to keep our league running, so incidents like this really hurt our program and, most importantly, our kids.

🙏 We are asking our Wilmington community for help.

If you live near the fields or have security cameras, Ring cameras, business cameras, or surveillance footage that may have captured anything between 9 PM last night and 6 AM this morning, please take a moment to check your footage.

If you see anything suspicious or believe you may have captured something that could help, please reach out to us directly. Even the smallest detail could help.

📢 PLEASE SHARE THIS POST so we can reach as many neighbors and local businesses as possible.

We may not receive the support we need from the city, but we have always had the support of our Wilmington community. ❤️

Congratulations to Pass Area 14U (Beaumont) on winning the 2026 PONY 14U State Championship! 🏆⚾️

Thank you for making the trip to Wilmington and for a well-played championship game. It was a hard-fought battle from the first pitch to the final out, and your team earned the title.

We appreciate the sportsmanship, respect, and great competition that was displayed on the field today. Wishing your players, coaches, and families continued success both on and off the field.
