Change The Game Performance Therapy Wilmington's Gold Standard in Physical Therapy and Sports Performance Training.

Physical Therapy & Performance Training services for athletes in Wilmington and Leland North Carolina.

⚽️The standard isn't given. It's earned.

Five straight ECNL National Playoff appearances.

That's not luck.

That's years of dedication, discipline, and showing up when it matters most.

This month's Game Changer Athlete is Trey Ragan, a junior at Cape Fear Academy and member of the 2009 Wilmington Hammerheads ECNL team.

For nearly 10 years, Trey has competed at a high level with the Hammerheads, and this summer he'll head to San Diego for his fifth consecutive ECNL National Playoffs appearance.

Last summer, Trey came to Change the Game looking to take the next step.

Not because he was injured.

Not because something was wrong.

Because he wanted more.

Working with Coach Brian Grant, Trey committed to building strength, improving performance, and reducing his risk of injury so he could continue competing at the highest level possible.

Today, he says he steps onto the field with confidence—confident in his preparation, confident in his body, and confident in his ability to perform when his team needs him most.

What stands out most about Trey isn't just his talent.

It's his commitment to the process.

As he enters one of the most important recruiting periods of his athletic career, he's looking for a college that will challenge him both on the field and in the classroom—a place that values excellence in academics and athletics alike.

That's a Game Changer mindset.

Trey, we're proud to have been a small part of your journey and can't wait to see what's next.

Go get 'em in San Diego.

Most athletes rest after season. The best ones rebuild.

Spring season may be ending, but what happens next matters.

The athletes who stay healthy and perform at a high level next season aren’t the ones who simply take time off and hope their body feels better.

They’re the ones who recover well, rebuild the right way, and address problems before they become setbacks.

If you’re a:

🥍 Lacrosse athlete finishing spring season
🎾 Tennis player preparing for summer play
⚾ Baseball/softball athlete building for the next level
🏐 Volleyball athlete heading into beach or indoor season
🏊 Swimmer gearing up for summer training

—or a parent or coach supporting one of them—this workshop is for you.

Built to Throw, Swing & Serve
How to Recover, Rebuild & Perform Before Overuse Becomes Injury

Hosted by Dr. Ryan Schott and Dr. Dray Schrecengost, this workshop will cover:

✔ What overhead athletes should be doing NOW after season ends
✔ Why shoulder, neck, and upper back issues happen
✔ How mobility and strength limitations affect performance
✔ What athletes can do to stay healthy and ready for next season

📅 Thursday, June 11th
⏰ 11:00 AM
📍 Change the Game Performance
💥 FREE to attend

The best athletes don’t wait until something hurts.

They prepare before problems start.

“I want to stay active.”

That’s why Chris keeps coming back to Change the Game.

For nearly 10 years, Chris has trusted our team to help him recover, move better, and keep doing the things he loves—from overcoming setbacks to managing the demands of staying active in pickleball and court sports.

His goal wasn’t just getting out of pain.

It was staying active. Getting stronger. Continuing to perform at a high level for life.

If aches, pain, or injury are keeping you from doing what you love, you don’t have to just “live with it.”

Real progress. Real performance.

📩 Send us a message to see how we can help you move better, stay active, and perform longer.

🎉 Help us welcome Dr. Drazen “Dray” Schrecengost, PT, DPT, CMTPT/DN to Change the Game Performance!

We’re excited to officially introduce Dr. Dray as the newest Physical Therapist joining the CTG team.

Dray earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Virginia Commonwealth University after completing his Bachelor’s in Integrative Neuroscience at Binghamton University. He began his career in Charlottesville, VA, before relocating to Wilmington.

With a background in personal training, Dray developed a passion for helping others through movement and now combines hands-on care, dry needling, and exercise-based treatment to help patients return to sport and the activities they enjoy.

At CTG, Dray brings a patient-centered approach focused on empathy, attention to detail, and truly understanding each individual. He enjoys working with active individuals and athletes, especially those navigating back pain or returning to sport.

Outside the clinic, Dray enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Abby, and his dogs, cooking and grilling, staying active, and being outdoors.

You’ll also have a chance to meet Dray at his first CTG workshop, **Back In Action**, co-hosted with Dr. Grant Bishop on **Wednesday, May 20 at 1:30 PM**.

This **free workshop** is designed for active adults dealing with back pain who want to better understand why pain keeps coming back and what they can do to move, exercise, and stay active with confidence. Whether back pain is limiting your golf game, workouts, pickleball, or everyday activities — this workshop is for you.

📩 To reserve your spot, simply **call, text, or message us directly** — space is limited!

Please help us give **Dray** a warm CTG welcome in the comments! 👇

We’re excited to spotlight one of our trusted community partners, Avance Care Wilmington, ahead of their upcoming Women’s Health Summit: Knowledge is Power on May 16th.

In this conversation, we had the chance to highlight the work Avance is doing in women’s health, primary care, hormone health, perimenopause/menopause support, and nutrition — including insight from Dr. Emma Vomer and Laurin Daywalt, RD.

At Change the Game, community is our number one core value, and part of that means connecting our patients, athletes, and families with providers who are doing meaningful work in the Wilmington area.

Coaches Anya and AmberLynn will be attending the event, and we’re looking forward to learning, connecting, and supporting a topic that matters deeply for active women at every stage of life.

If you are navigating perimenopause, menopause, hormone changes, fatigue, sleep changes, strength changes, nutrition questions, or simply want to better understand what is happening in your body, this event is a great opportunity to learn from local experts.

🔥 5:08.85. School Record. And Not Done Yet.

A huge congratulations to Kylie Petrides on running a 5:08.85 mile this past weekend—adding yet another school record to her name.

And she’s just getting started.

Kylie, a senior at Cape Fear Academy and future University of Tampa XC & Track athlete, came to us in February 2025 after battling through a quad tear during her cross country season.

Not at 100%.
Not feeling like herself.
But ready to get to work.

We started with physical therapy—rebuilding the foundation.

Then she transitioned into strength and conditioning with Coach Brian…

And everything changed.

Stronger.
More confident.
More powerful.

Since then, it’s been record after record.

Now, she’s chasing her next goal: breaking 5:00 at states.

But what makes Kylie a true Game Changer isn’t just the times she’s running—

It’s how she shows up.

In her own words, she’s just as excited for her team as she is for herself.

That’s the standard.
That’s the mindset.
That’s a Game Changer.

Proud of you, Kylie 👏
Excited to watch what’s next at Tampa.

We don’t do workouts. We build athletes.

5 Years of Impact. 5 Years of Being a Game Changer.

Today we’re celebrating Dr. Grant Bishop on his 5-year anniversary with Change the Game 🎉

From day one, Grant has brought energy, passion, and a relentless commitment to helping people move better, feel better, and perform at their highest level.

As our first golf specialist and one of the driving forces behind our rehab + performance model, Grant has helped countless athletes and active adults:
⛳️ Get back on the course pain-free
🏃‍♂️ Return to running stronger
💪 Avoid surgery and build lasting strength

But what truly sets Grant apart isn’t just his knowledge—it’s how he shows up for people.

Patients consistently describe him as:
➡️ Thoughtful
➡️ Encouraging
➡️ Fully invested in their goals

And behind the scenes, he’s been a leader, a mentor, and a cornerstone of our culture—living out what it means to be a Game Changer every single day.

Outside the clinic, Grant is a husband, a dad, a golfer, runner, dog dad, and pull-up champion. He is someone who brings a gold standard level of intention and care to his family and community.

Grant — we’re incredibly grateful for the impact you’ve made over the past 5 years and excited for everything ahead.

Help us celebrate him in the comments 👇

Meet the team behind the front desk 🙌

We’re excited to introduce Lesley (Front Office Lead) and Jess (Front Office Assistant) — the duo helping keep everything running smoothly from the moment you walk through our doors.

Lesley brings a strong background in healthcare operations, billing, and leadership, with a focus on creating a welcoming, organized experience for every patient.
Jess comes with years of experience in a PT setting and a passion for helping patients better understand their care and insurance so they feel confident every step of the way.

They’re often the first voice you hear and the first faces you see — and a big part of what makes our clinic feel like a community.

🎉 Happy Birthday to Dr. Ryan Godfrey!

Dr. Ryan doesn’t do traditional physical therapy — he raises the standard. From coaching athletes to mentoring his team, he pushes people to the next level, always challenging, supporting, and inspiring those around him.

He embodies everything we stand for: community, teamwork, and being a GAME CHANGER — whether it’s leading our staff, supporting athletes, participating in community events, or growing the Game Changers Foundation.

And when he’s not coaching or mentoring? He’s running on coffee, crushing miles in local races, staying up late watching hockey and football, and showing off his competitive streak by taking the staff down in the men's tournament bracket.

Drop your birthday wishes below and celebrate the man who keeps us moving, laughing, and leveling up every day! 🎂💬⬇️
