The Wilmington Municipal Golf Course is taking proactive steps to protect its ultra-dwarf greens during forecasted freezing temperatures. Temporary greens covers will be installed to prevent ice damage and winterkill, helping preserve turf health and ensure strong playing conditions heading into spring.

🏌️ Heads up, Muni golfers! The Wilmington Municipal Golf Course will be closed Monday, July 7, through Friday, July 11, for routine aeration and verticutting of the tees, fairways, and greens.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but this is necessary to ensure the course remains in top condition throughout the year.

The Muni will reopen on Saturday, July 12.

During this time, the pro shop will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

ATTENTION GOLFERS: PLEASE READ!

UPDATE:

➡️ The Wilmington Municipal Golf Course will remain closed to the public through Thursday, Jan. 23 due to expected freezing conditions.

Valued Golfers,

Due to the current forecasted freezing temperatures, we have made the decision to temporarily close the Municipal Golf Course Monday, January 20, 2025 to protect the greens from potential damage. Freezing conditions can cause significant harm to the turf, impacting the quality and playability of the course.

This precaution allows us to preserve the health of the greens and ensure optimal playing conditions when temperatures return to normal. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the long-term care of our course.

Please stay tuned for updates regarding reopening.

This has been COMPLETED! ✔️ Both courses (Inland Greens & Municipal Golf Course) will resume normal operating functions.

The City of Wilmington's Data Center, located at 315 Chestnut Street, will be relocated over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. This move is expected to be completed by 8:00 AM, Monday, December 2nd.

What This Means for YOU:

Golfers at BOTH Inland Greens & the Municipal Golf Course may experience technical interruptions or delays while the City's network is down - specifically when attempting to secure a tee-time. (Friday, November 29 - Sunday, December 1, 2024).

During this timeframe, we will only be able to accept the following payment types: (a) Punch Cards; (b) Cash; and/or (c) Checks. Phones may also be down during this time. If phones are not working, please try again later!

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to enhance our infrastructure.

Thank you for your support during this temporary adjustment.
