🤺RESULTS🤺:
🤺We had a number of our people compete in the Stab-a-thon this past weekend.
🤺Starting with the opening open foil, Ivey S. was 0-4 in his pool but won his first DE before losing to the eventual winner to finish 16th.
🤺Nora Reber went 1-4, got a first round bye, then lost her DE to finish 14th.
🤺Thoren D. was also 1-4 in his pool, received a bye, then lost to Gerhard Guevarra, the coach of All-American in Fayetteville, and finished 12th.
🤺Walter D. was 2-3, earned a bye, but then ran into Joel E., to finish 10th.
🤺Joel was 3-2 in his pool, defeated Walter, but then lost to Patrick G., to finish 7th.
🤺Patrick was a perfect 5-0 in pools, earned a bye, then won 3 DEs. before losing in the finals, finishing 2nd and re-earned his E.
🤺Overall, the event was won by David Hadler of All-American Fencing Academy, with Patrick 2nd, and Gerhard tied for 3rd with Julian T., also of All-American, who earned his E26.
🤺The open epee saw Ryan O'Dea win one and lose four in the pool. He lost his first DE to Jackson J. and finished 20th.
🤺Patrick went 2-3 in the pool, won his first DE but lost the second to finish 15th.
🤺Robert Thomas also was 2-3, won his first DE but lost a close 14-15 second DE to finish 14th.
🤺Jackson, still fencing on a broken toe, was 2-2 in the pool, won his first DE over Ryan but lost the second to finish 13th.
🤺Jacob M. of Charlotte Fencing Academy took one 3rd and re-earned his C.
🤺The other medalists were all from Apex Fencing Academy. Sam Han nabbed the other 3rd, and Tristan C. defeated brother Aiden to take 1st place.
🤺The nightcap was a D and under epee, with a bunch of CFFA fencers involved.
🤺Lindsey Wagner was 2-3 in her pool, received a bye, but lost her first DE to finish 12th.
🤺Herman Smith was 3-2 in his pool, got a bye only to run into Robert Thomas and finish 9th.
🤺Robert, also 3-2 for pools, beat Herman but lost his next DE to finish 8th.
🤺Kenyatta Sanford, another 3-2 pool person, received a first DE bye, won her first DE, but then lost to one of the bronze medalists.
🤺Iron Man Patrick G., the only person to compete in all three events, was 4-1 in his pool, earned a bye, then won his first DE before losing to Ryan O'Dea.
🤺Ryan had a 3-2 pool, drew a bye, won his first DE, defeated Patrick, then won two 15-14 bouts to win the gold and re-earn his D.
🤺Tallis R. of Apex took silver and re-earned his E.
🤺Shaurya S. of Triple Threat Fencing Academy and Sullivan U. of Apex won the bronzes.
🤺Results for a couple of CFFA adjacent fencers.... Erica Julien fought in the Open Epee, went 0-4, lost her first DE and finished 22nd. She was 2-3 in the D and under pool, lost her DE, and finished 13th.
🤺Isabella Fernandes of UNCW Fencing, in her first ever competition, got touches on almost everyone in a 0-5 pool and lost her first DE to finish 18th. Congratulations to everyone.
🤺Zemi Lawrence ran the event. Mike Nicholson, Donny Zelinski, Brendan McConville, Jayden Vergara, and Josh White refereed. Mike Kinney, James Perkins, Herman Smith, and Josh White armored. Thanks to everyone who helped with the pre-event cleaning, set up, and tear down of the fencing room.

🤺Coach Spahr will be heading up to Richmond for the NAC Thursday evening and will not be around for practice or lessons. Otherwise, classes and lessons should be per usual for this week.
