Understanding Breast Health “Starting Now”

The Office of Women’s Advancement & Advocacy (OWAA), in partnership with the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, is hosting a powerful VIRTUAL session designed for girls, preteens, and teenagers — and the adults who love them.

Breast health has evolved in ways many of us were never taught growing up. Even the most attentive parents and caring adults can’t be expected to know everything, especially as new research, guidance, and early‑awareness practices continue to emerge.
This session offers clear, age‑appropriate information that helps girls understand their bodies while giving families the chance to learn together in a warm, supportive space.

This isn't about having the most expensive camera or the fanciest editing software. It’s about what your child can learn, create, and share.

⭐ They'll have an opportunity to experience an event celebrating Delaware women and surrounded by leaders and changemakers from across our state.

HERSTORY: Intergenerational Conversations for Women

OWAA is partnering with these amazing organizations to launch HERSTORY! A conversation series designed to bring women of all generations together to share stories, build connections, and celebrate wisdom across life stages.

Join us for one of the September kickoff events featuring guided discussions, reflective activities, and authentic storytelling focused on identity, learning, communication, and the future.

Following the kickoff, HERSTORY continues in 2027 with a four‑part journey exploring ROOTS, RESILIENCE, POWER, and LEGACY.

We proudly acknowledge the legacy of Judie Drexler, whose decades of public service transformed the systems that support Delaware’s children, families, and underserved communities.

Her leadership continues to influence policy, strengthen institutions, and expand opportunities across the First State.

The Delaware Women's Hall of Fame- Kids Video Contest is open to Delaware students ages 8–13, and there is still time to participate.

Here’s the challenge:

Choose a woman inducted into the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame
Learn about her life and accomplishments
Create a 1–3 minute video sharing what you discovered and why her story is worth remembering.
