THE YEAR OF BECOMING.

A new season is here, and DCFD is stepping into something BIG. 💛

Our 2026–2027 season officially begins September 8th, and we cannot wait to welcome our dancers back into the studio!

We’re calling this The Year of Becoming; becoming stronger dancers, confident artists, disciplined students, courageous leaders, and everything we know our dancers are capable of being. This year is about growth, artistry, opportunity, community, and so much more than dance.

And DCFD family… 👀 we have some VERY exciting news to share soon. A new chapter is unfolding, and trust us, you don’t want to miss this announcement! 🤭

Registration is still OPEN! Whether you’re returning home to DCFD or joining us for the first time, there’s still time to become part of our community.

Great dance classes don’t happen by accident.

At DCFD, we believe our dancers deserve more than teachers simply walking into the studio and deciding what to teach that day. Every class should have purpose, progression, and a plan.

This season, our faculty has created structured curriculum and benchmark templates designed specifically for our dancers and their levels. We’re also introducing monthly benchmarks so our teachers have clear goals for what dancers should be learning, developing, and working toward throughout the season.

From terminology and technique to strength, artistry, musicality, flexibility, and performance quality; we want to be able to identify where our dancers are, where they’re going, and how we’re helping them get there.

Because teaching dance is more than teaching choreography.

It’s education.
It’s development.
It’s accountability.
It’s intentional training.

We’re not just filling class time at DCFD. We’re building dancers.

From our youngest dancers stepping into elementary school classrooms to our college students stepping into their next chapter; we are wishing ALL of our DCFD students an incredible 2026–2027 school year!

As you head back to school, remember that the same things we practice in the studio carry with you into every classroom:

✨ Confidence to use your voice.
✨ Courage to try something new.
✨ Respect for yourself and others.
✨ Resilience when things don’t go as planned.

“There Is Only Love.”

Performed beautifully by our Sydney.

This was Sydney’s very first competition season with Delaware Center for Dance, and from the moment she stepped on stage, we knew she was something special. Her maturity as a dancer, her artistry, and the way she connects so effortlessly to the music are truly beyond her years.

At Nationals, Sydney was also returning from a broken finger and worked incredibly hard to get back on track. Despite the setback, she took the stage with grace, resilience, and heart, delivering a performance we’ll never forget.

Sydney, we are so proud of you. Thank you for trusting us with your journey. Watching you grow has been such a gift, and we are so lucky to have you as part of the DCFD family. Your future is so bright, and we can’t wait to see where your passion takes you next. 🤍

BEGINNER HEELS IS BACK! 🔥

Join Miss Cara on Wednesday, August 19th from 7:00–9:30 PM for a beginner-friendly heels class!

Whether you’ve never danced in heels before or you’re looking to build confidence and technique, this class is for you. You are welcome to wear heels or shoes of your choice, the goal is simply to get in the room and learn.

Miss Cara doesn’t just teach choreography, she focuses on the foundations, technique, confidence, and movement that make heels dance so empowering.

No experience required.
Supportive environment.
All confidence levels welcome.

Our August Schedule is Here! ✨

As we wrap up an incredible summer, we’re taking a little time to rest, reset, and prepare for an exciting new season at DCFD. 💛

But don’t worry, we’re still moving! The second half of August is full of opportunities to move with us.

In addition to all of the other classes, we’re excited to continue our FREE Adult Stretch in the Park and, by popular demand, we’ve added a FREE Youth Stretch in the Park class so our younger people can experience the same benefits of mobility, flexibility, and intentional movement! All experience levels, girls and boys, just come stretch!
