Throwback to the biggest buck i ever shot on Camp Lejeune circa 2013/14.
We scouted a training area the day prior because we knew it was gonna be available the next day.
By the time we got out for the afternoon hunt all we saw was orange hats in trees. Me and my buddy Mike pi**ed everyone off by walking across a huge pine field and set up over looking a swamp bottom. I wasn’t in the tree 15 minutes and this bruiser came screaming out and stood behind a scrub oak looking my way 50 yards away. I put one in the brisket and dropped him DRT. Mike shot a smaller 8 a few minutes later. It was an action packed hunt, and if you’ve ever hunted Lejeune you know it’s a damn challenge! Sometimes the magic happens quick!
