✨ May 2009: I became a mother and shortly after, I discovered I had prediabetes. The doctor warned me that without changes, I could develop full-blown diabetes. In that pivotal moment, with my daughter by my side, I made a promise to her. Determined, I went to the library, borrowed books on weight loss and healthy eating, and even picked up a few workout DVDs. I devoted countless hours to learning, taking notes, and reading.
💪 Despite limited resources, I persevered without a trainer or gym membership. Focusing on cardio, I embarked on a journey to shed over 120 lbs. Looking back, I realize I didn't fully appreciate my progress at the time. Despite my remarkable transformation, I still struggled with body image and excess skin.
😔 In April 2012, tragedy struck as I lost my father under mysterious circumstances. Sinking into grief and depression, I sought counseling and therapy to navigate this dark period. Then, in April 2013, I summoned the strength to break free from a toxic and abusive relationship with my daughter's father. It was a challenging decision, but I knew I deserved better.
❤️ May 2013 brought hope as I ventured into the world of dating apps. Serendipity smiled upon me, and I met my current boyfriend, who treated me like a queen and embraced my daughter as his own. His unwavering support ignited my passion for weight loss and fitness.
🤰 Despite planning to work out throughout my pregnancy, unforeseen health complications made it incredibly challenging. High blood pressure, bedrest, and multiple hospitalizations became my reality. My daughter was born prematurely at 36 weeks and faced lung issues, requiring an airlift. Five weeks later, I resumed my fitness journey, eager to shed the baby weight.
