When a pack of Donkeys get together for our 438th annual Ice Donkeys Gift Exchange only good things can come of it. We even had random people asking to get pics with th Donkeys. We are pretty much local celebrities.

Always a fun game. The annual MIT vs Ice Donkeys game was a good time had by all. In the end the MIT guys may be better at hockey than us, definitely smarter than us, went to class more than us but we are way better looking and that has to account for something.

One of our own. He is widely regarded as the “smart guy” on the team and he regularly holds up to that title. He won’t see this because he isn’t on FB but if you see him out and about give him a thanks for reffing games. Plus he may be the only ref in the state of Illinois that I have yet to yell at.

For Brian Fabes, officiating is a challenge unlike any other in his professional life – and one that he absolutely loves. To constantly work for the right angle, to communicate effectively with players and coaches, to make the right call, to have a strong first stride out of the zone, and so on. T

Heroes get remembered but legends never die. The Ice Donkeys spin off went out and dominated the Chicago PHL bringing home the cup. Details to follow on the victory parade through downtown Wilmette. The banner raising at North Shore Ice Arena is going to be the hottest ticket in town.
