CalSci Racing (Leon Hill)

CalSci Racing (Leon Hill) My name is Leon Hill, I'm AFM #367. I'm a Mechanical Engineering student kick ass and taking names. I started racing in 2011 after a year and a half of trackdays.

I work and go to school and while I'm not working or studying I ride or work on my motorcycle. In high school I ran cross country and raced snowboard slaloms. Growing up, and even today, my video game genre of choice is racing. It only seems fitting I picked up racing motorcycles and am so dedicated to getting on the track next. I built the SV650 from a street bike. I sold the original body work a

nd tank. Made my own fiber glass body work and bought a beat up old tank. I'm still working on both the body work and tank. In the future I will start racing dirt bikes while working on my AMA pro racing license.

The official results do not reflect the success I had on track this weekend. Not only my first time griding up as an expert, but also I rode BW for the first time Thursday night on a bicycle. Only got faster from there though. I set a solid goal of turning my 2:11 practice time into a 2:08 on Sunday. I shattered that goal with a 2:07. All small steps in the large leap to expert podiums.

The official results are,
12th in 650 Twins, 2:08.7
12th in Formula IV, 2:07.6
4th in 650 Prod, 2:07.3

Here is the race start from 650 Prod. Audio makes it that much more fun.

Had a fantastic day at Sonoma Raceway yesterday. Got some excellent testing done, sorted out the bike, knocked some cob webs off, and figured out what I need to do off track to be ready for Round 1. Button Willow, here I come. Thank you E for the coaching and support.
