Packed up and ready to go home (early 😢). Engine failure yesterday due to poor quality Autozone altenator. Pully broke off, belt came off which also drove the water pump. No engine cooling for a lap or so and engine stalled. Hoped it would just be the head gasket. Found one at the track (big thanks to Tired Iron Racing!) so gave it a try and replaced it, but no luck. Still no compression after the „open heart surgery“. See you next time LeMons.

Quick update … Pablo had just set the fastest lap time of the race with 6.8 sec to second fastest when we got black flagged and grounded for sound level violation … wtf? We have been racing here with the same car and setup for over 10 years and never a problem. More rules and regulations every year 😢. Had to come up with some sort of a hack … quick trip to car parts store for a bunch of parts and back in track now - seems to have solved the problem 😎

Latest update from Risky Whiskey Racing:
The original aluminum bracket of our Rotrex supercharger was obviously not designed to handle the increased stress/vibrations of spirited endurance racing and in the past broke into pieces already twice as a result.

Our good friend Marcus (owner of Marcus Fry Racing in Redwood City) was kind enough to help us out by re-creating the failed aluminum bracket in Stainless Steel.

The next upcoming races will be the proof in the pudding 😜
