The 25:01 of Thunderhill is complete. 6th overall with the 57th fastest lap means we had a pretty clean weekend. No black flags, and only mechanical failures were a tire that partially delaminated, we broke the gas pedal into three pieces, and our rear sway bar disconnected a couple of hours into the race. But mostly we kept putting fuel into the car and turning laps.
6 drivers for this race: Chris, Dan, and Simon. The usual suspects. And Ryan, Alex, and Steve as guest drivers meant that we each ran two shifts of about two hours.
The heat kept us in the RV most of the weekend, and we ran shifts of sleep as best we could. Ryan kept us fed and watered.
Not sure I’d want to do this again, but it was a great one off experience and I’m glad we did it.
