Red Shirt Lake is a great option. It's a 3-mile hike to the lake, but the canoes are already staged there waiting for you. Once you arrive, you'll find a beautiful wilderness lake full of northern pike and plenty of room to explore.

What do you call it? 🤔

I've heard this area called the Lynx Lake Canoe Trail, Tanaina Lake Canoe Trail, Nancy Lake Canoe Trail, and probably a few other names too. Whatever you call it, it's a great place to get out on the water.

Today I'm out checking on our boats after a large group reservation hit the trail. If you're planning an outing with scouts, a church group, coworkers, friends, or family, we offer group rates for 5 or more boats. You can find the details on our website under Menu → Scouts & Groups.

🎣 Fishing Report from Tippecanoe 🎣

George is ready for the season now that he's armed with a tiny adjustable wrench. 🔧😂

We've been hearing good reports from around the Nancy Lake State Recreation Area, with anglers catching both pike and rainbow trout. The fish are active, the lakes are looking great, and it's a perfect time to get out on the water.

Not my video, but I was excited to find this one showing the trip out to Cabin #1 on Red Shirt Lake using one of our canoes.

Red Shirt Lake is one of my favorite places in Nancy Lake State Recreation Area. It's a 3-mile hike to the lake, where we have canoes staged and ready to go. From there, you can paddle to public-use cabins, fish for pike, explore the lake, or simply enjoy the quiet wilderness.

What's new at Tippecanoe this season!

We've added a new after-hours pickup option. If you've made a reservation, completed your waivers, and selected after-hours pickup, George will prepare your gear, assign a locker, and contact you with the locker number and combination so you can start your adventure on your schedule.

We've also launched our new self-checkout locker rentals! With a limited number of canoes at South Rolly Lake and Red Shirt Lake, plus kayaks and paddleboards, it's easier than ever to get on the water. Just scan the QR code, make your reservation, complete your waivers, and your locker information will appear on your screen.
