The 2022 Hatcher Pass Marathon & Relay is mountainous marathon in beautiful Willow, Alaska. This race has become a staple in the Alaska running community, not just for it's incredible location but also for it's intense elevation gain of 4,943 ft. The route follows Willow Fishhook road (Hatcher Pass Rd) all the way up to and over the summit before finishing at the historical Independence Mine State
Park. The first 25 miles of the race are uphill, some gradual, some steep, some switchbacks. The relay event is a 3-person relay with each team member running about 8-9 miles.
