Not every horse starts out where you want them to be. Some come with bad habits, holes in their training, trust issues, or a past that you may never fully know. Some take weeks to understand, some take months, and some take years.
But that’s what training is about. 🤎🐴
It’s not about making a horse perfect. It’s about helping them become the best version of themselves while building a relationship based on trust, patience, and consistency.
There will be days when everything clicks and you feel like you made huge progress. And there will be days when it feels like you went backwards. There will be rides that leave you proud, and rides that leave you wondering what went wrong.
Don’t let the bad days convince you that you aren’t making progress.
Every quiet moment, every correct response, every little breakthrough, every time your horse chooses to trust you — it all adds up.
I believe every horse deserves to be given a chance to learn without being rushed, punished for what they don’t understand, or expected to know something they were never taught.
Train the horse in front of you. Meet them where they are. Build them up instead of breaking them down.
Because at the end of the day, the goal isn’t just a broke horse.
The goal is a horse that trusts you, listens to you, enjoys their job, and feels safe with you.
Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep putting in the work.
The progress may be slow, but one day you’ll look back and realize just how far you both came. 🤎
