Join Hardwood Basketball Academy for preseason clinics designed to teach, reinforce, and build upon the fundamental skills of basketball while exploring all aspects of the game. Sessions focus on core fundamentals such as ball handling, shooting, passing, footwork, defense, and teamwork.

Mondays - Sept. 14 - Oct. 5
Grades 1-4: 5:30 - 6:30 PM
Emphasis on ball handling!
Hoops will be lowered for shooting drills for grades 1-2.

Grades 5-8: 6:40 -8:05 PM
Ball Handling, Shooting, and Scrimmages.

The Rebel Wrestling Club (RWC) is a youth wrestling program in Willoughby directed by Willoughby South High School Coach, Ray Canale.
The program and instruction provided is designed for both new and experienced youth wrestlers. No previous wrestling experience is required. This wrestling program focuses on folk style wrestling like seen in high school and college competitions.
Wrestling is a sport that will help develop agility, coordination, flexibility, balance, self-esteem, self-discipline, and a strong work ethic.

All children will face opponents who are similar in size as they are.

Rebel Wrestling Club will aim to build a program that incorporates Willoughby's youth, middle and high school wrestling programs.
Ages- Grade K - 6th (roughly 6-12 y/o)

Start date- Tuesday November 3, 2026
Practices are Tuesdays and Thursday, 6pm-7:30pm in the South High School Wrestling room. Additional practices for "advanced wrestlers" will be held on Mondays 6:00-7:00pm starting November 9th.
First practice will be Tuesday, November 3, 2026 and go through February 28, 2027
You will enter through the Willoughby Middle School entrance (5000 Shankland Blvd.)
Competitions are on Sundays from 9am-1pm at various locations in the area.

What we will provide:
- NEW THIS YEAR!!!! A Custom RWC Singlet that you will KEEP
- T-Shirt with logo kids will keep

Division 1: co-ed grades 1-2
Division 2: Boys Grades 3-4
Division 3: Boys Grades 5-6
Division 4: Boys Grades 7-9 (listed under 2027 Programs)
Girls Basketball league Grades 3+ (listed under 2027 Programs)

Willoughby Youth Basketball is a community-based recreational league that gives boys and girls the opportunity to learn the game, improve their skills, and have fun in a supportive environment.
The program focuses on teaching the fundamentals of basketball—shooting, passing, dribbling, defense, and teamwork—helping players build a strong foundation in the sport. Along with skill development, the league emphasizes the values of sportsmanship, respect, and fair play, ensuring players grow both on and off the court.
Willoughby is again proud to partner with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Junior Cavs Youth Basketball League. All athletes receive a reversible Jr. Cavs Jersey and two (2) tickets to a select 2026-27 Cavs home game.
Whether a beginner or an experienced player looking to sharpen their abilities, Willoughby Youth Basketball provides a positive, inclusive experience for all.

Willoughby Youth Travel Basketball
The City of Willoughby Parks & Recreation Travel Basketball Program provides players in 3rd through 6th grade the opportunity to compete at a higher level of play while continuing to develop their skills.
Teams: One travel team per grade level (3rd–6th) with 8–10 players each

Boys Basketball Tryouts Oct. 6 & 7: Union Village Field House
- Grade 3: 5:45 – 6:30 PM / Grade 4: 6:35 – 7:20 PM
- Grade 5: 7:25-8:10 PM /Grade 6: 8:15 - 9pm

Girls Basketball Tryouts Sept. 29, 6:00PM

This program emphasizes both player development and community pride, giving young athletes the chance to grow on and off the court.

Today, we recognize those who are essential to golf’s success, the professionals who manage and maintain golf courses. The golf maintenance crew are the people who tirelessly prepare the course every day for the rest of us to enjoy.

We want to express our appreciation to our Superintendent Greg Hill and Assistant Superintendent Rob Cleer for the amount of work they have continued to put in our golf course. Without them and the rest of our maintenance crew, the course would not be what it is today. Their dedication to our course is what makes it one of the best in northeast Ohio.

Please help us thank our entire maintenance crew for their amazing work throughout the year on International Thank a Superintendent Day!
