Today marks 13 years since we lost Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield at a shooting range near Chalk Mountain, Texas. Chris and Chad had offered to help a veteran suffering from PTSD at the request of his mother and brought him along to a shooting range. This individual sadly and senselessly killed both Chris and Chad. We honor and remember both of these selfless men.
Chris Kyle is well known by many for "American Sniper." He served previously as a Navy SEAL. When he left the Navy in 2009, he struggled with PTSD and decided to help others who also struggle. Kyle began helping to supply workout equipment to wounded veterans. Chris is survived by his wife and two children.
Chad Littlefield is often a forgotten victim in this tragedy. He has been described as a humble dad, a Christian, and happiest spending time with his family. Littlefield was a proud lifelong resident of Texas and worked as a logistics manager. Chad was survived by his wife and daughter. Chad also volunteered alongside Chris Kyle, who was a neighbor and friend.
We remember you both today. Fair winds and following seas.
