Wanted to get an education post for our hockey and figure skating customers. Let me ask you a question. How do you or you child dry their skates? Just raining the out of the bag? Just unzip their bag? I see many skates come in and their rivets are rusted out or their blades re rusted and their blade holders are pink cuz the soakers (soft blade guards) are left on while drying. Here is how to keep your skates longer lasting and smell better. Hanging hockey skates upside down is a way to dry them after use to prevent moisture from getting trapped inside, which can cause rivets to rust and damage the boot's interior. When skates are left right-side up, sweat can run down and pool under the insole, near the rivets, leading to corrosion. Hanging them upside down allows moisture to drain out from the top of the boot, protecting the rivets and prolonging the life of the skates.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me. I’d love sharoening but I love to educate too.
