Our facility is one of a kind and located just a few minutes west of Williston, ND. Featuring a sporting clay course, 5-stand clay field, a variety of gun ranges, archery targets a
nd much more – you’ll always find excitement on the horizon. Our sporting range is our passion. You’ll find well-manicured natural beauty throughout hundreds of acres filled with rolling hills, steep cut banks, spring fed creeks and more. You’ll find Painted Woods to be a family friendly place. It’s not just an old boys gun club in Williston. Of course, the boys are always welcome when a little rowdy competition is in order. Through our membership in these different groups, we can offer our community a variety of shooting events, fun shoots, and oil industry sporting clay shooting in ND. Giving back to the region is important to our staff. The Painted Woods Sporting Range is available for non-profit fundraising events. We will get you to the Painted Woods Sporting Range no matter what direction you are coming from. Look for the big arrows when you get close! If you are using a GPS device our address is 5050 145th Avenue NW, Williston, ND. We are located just West of Williston, North Dakota. Please come join us whether you want to shoot guns or bows. We invite you to come visit us even if you just simply want to enjoy the fellowship and the ambiance of the beautiful countryside setting. We will provide the fire and the marshmallows. Kites are available to purchase and fly. The kite flying lessons are free. We have a grill and tables if you want to bring your own food and supplies or purchase ours. We have a lot to offer! Directions if you are coming from Williston
Leave Williston and travel West on HWY 2 to the intersection of HWY 2 West and HWY 85 South. Continue traveling West 4.2 miles on HWY 2 to the traffic light controlled intersection of HWY 2 and County Road 1. Turn right and travel North .4 miles. Turn right again into the Painted Woods Sporting Range. Directions if you are coming into Williston from the North on US-2
Here is our suggestion if you are coming from the North side of Williston. At the traffic light controlled intersection of HWY 2 and US-85 (New Truck Bypass) turn right and travel West on US-85 for 12.5 miles to the traffic light controlled intersection at HWY 2 and US-85 West. Turn right and head West for 4.2 miles to the traffic light controlled intersection of HWY 2 and County Road 1. Enjoy yourself! Directions if you are coming into Williston from the South on US-85
Continue traveling North on US-85 to the traffic light controlled intersection of HWY 2 and US-85. Turn left and proceed West on HWY 2 for 4.2 miles to the traffic light controlled intersection of HWY 2 and County Road 1. Turn right again into Painted Woods Sporting Range. Good luck shooting! If you’re coming from Montana and traveling East on HWY 2 please continue 9.9 miles from the State Line Club until you reach the traffic light controlled intersection of HWY 2 and County Road 1. Turn left and travel North .4 miles. Turn right into Painted Woods Sporting Range. Remember to follow through when shooting sporting clays! Directions if you are at the intersection of US-2 and the Grenora Road
From the Intersection of County Road 5 (Grenora Road) and HWY 2 travel East on HWY 2 for 2.3 miles to the traffic light intersection of HWY 2 and County Road 1. Squeeeeeze the trigger…. Directions if you are at the intersection of US-2 and the Trenton Turn Off
From the traffic light controlled intersection at the Trenton turn off (1804 & HWY 2) Turn left and travel West on HWY 2 for 1.8 miles to the traffic light controlled intersection of HWY 2 and County Road 1.
