ABOVE & BEYOND 2026

WHAT. A. CAMP
We came. We flipped. We laughed. We probably used enough chalk to cover the entire state of North Dakota. And somehow… we survived!
But seriously, Above & Beyond 2026 was everything we hoped it would be and MORE.

There is something pretty special about watching a gym full of girls work hard, conquer fears, make new friends, cheer ridiculously loud for each other, and walk out the doors a little more confident than when they walked in. ❤️

Some girls walked away with a brand-new skill. Some made progress toward one they’ve been chasing forever. Some found a little more confidence in themselves. And some probably just discovered how much fun it is to launch themselves into our new pit. 😂 Whatever they took away from this weekend, we are SO proud of them.

And can we talk about our guest coaches?! Russell, Garrett & Ryan, THANK YOU for making the trek to Williston, North Dakota and pouring so much into our athletes and coaches. You challenged our girls, encouraged them, made them laugh, and gave them the confidence to try things they may not have thought they could do.

You also helped teach our coaches even more ways to use our new pit and trench bar…because apparently spending months building the thing was only step one. Now we actually have to know what to do with it. 😉

One of the best parts of this weekend was looking around and realizing just how excited we are for the 2026–2027 season. We have such a great group of coaches and athletes, and there is an energy in this gym right now that makes us so excited for what’s ahead.

Of course we want successful gymnasts. We want new skills, great routines and big accomplishments. But more than anything, we want these girls to LOVE coming to the gym. We want them laughing with their teammates, making memories, building confidence, supporting one another and having a FUN gymnastics season.

And to all of the guest athletes who joined us this weekend, just know you may have walked into our gym as a guest, but you walked out with a whole new group of cheerleaders. No matter what gym name is on your leo this season, when we see you at a meet, you can bet Western Stars will be cheering for you! We loved getting to know you, watching you work, and seeing new friendships form throughout the weekend. At the end of the day, we all love the same sport, and there is plenty of room to cheer for each other. 🫶🏼
So if you hear a few extra-loud voices from across the gym this meet season… yep, that’s probably us.

To every athlete who gave it her all, every coach who probably lost her voice, every parent who trusted us with their girl, and everyone who helped make this weekend happen… THANK YOU.

Russell & Garrett… we’ll see you next year! 😉
Ryan… you don’t get rid of us that easily. We’ll be seeing you even sooner!

One of our coolest projects yet… it’s going to be so fun to watch all of the skill progression from our brand new trench bar!

We are beyond excited to announce that our foam pit, trench bar, and in-ground Tumbl Trak are officially complete!
This project has been months in the making, and what an adventure it has been! There were late nights, early mornings, endless planning, countless volunteer hours, what felt like an endless amount of sweeping dust 🧹😂, and plenty of “How hard can this be?” moments… followed immediately by “Well… harder than we thought!”
To every parent who volunteered, every donor who gave, every business that supported us, every coach who traded their coaching shirt for construction duty, and every athlete who patiently waited while half the gym looked like a construction zone… THANK YOU!
Because of your generosity and support, our athletes now have even more opportunities to train safely, build confidence, and chase their biggest goals.
Now comes the fun part… Watching our athletes put it all to use! We have a feeling the foam pit is going to become everyone’s favorite place in the gym… and we’re not just talking about the kids! 🤪

This project is proof that when a community comes together, amazing things happen. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in our athletes and in the future of Western Stars Gymnastics. We can’t wait to see all the incredible skills, smiles, and memories that will be made here for years to come. ❤️⭐
Here’s to new skills, safe landings, and hopefully never having to sweep up that much concrete dust again! 😂

WELCOME TO THE TEAM, COACH TRISTA!

We’re so excited to officially welcome Coach Trista as our new Recreational Coordinator at Western Stars Gymnastics! ❤️🤍🖤

If you’re a Williston local, you’ll probably remember Trista from the good old days at the original Western Stars building by Scenic Sports. Fun fact… Coach Trista was actually Coach Emily’s coach! 😄 Talk about a full-circle moment!

As our Recreational Coordinator, Trista will be leading our recreational program by:
✨ Improving parent communication
✨ Sending monthly skill updates and newsletters
✨ Helping evaluate athletes for class placement
✨ Supporting and mentoring our recreational coaches
✨ Bringing exciting new ideas and opportunities to our rec program

We’re thrilled for what’s ahead and can’t wait for everyone to meet Coach Trista this season!

We are SO CLOSE to wrapping up our foam pit project! 🎉 If everything goes as planned, we’ll be finished by the end of next week.

Who knew installing a foam pit involved so many late nights, sore muscles, and the occasional “Where does this piece even go?” 😂 But thanks to the amazing support from our Western Stars family and community, we made it happen!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, hauled equipment, turned wrenches, moved mats, and helped bring this dream to life. We truly couldn’t have done it without you! ❤️

Pretty soon our athletes will be flying into a giant pit of foam instead of asking, “Can we use the pit yet?” every five minutes. 😜

We can’t wait to see the smiles, the new skills, and the confidence this incredible addition will bring to our gym. The countdown is officially on…

⭐ 20–30 hours/week
⭐ Competitive pay (based on experience)
⭐ 30% tuition discount for employee athlete(s) (depending on experience)
⭐ Cheer, dance, gymnastics, or youth sports experience is a plus—but not required! We provide training.
⭐ Need to bring your child? Employees are welcome to bring children ages 4+ to hang out in our boardroom while you work (following gym guidelines).

We don’t think we ever got around to posting our Spring Expo routine!
Back in April, some very special guests were sneaking into the gym for secret practices. Dads, family members, and friends teamed up with our competition athletes to learn an entire routine in just 3 weeks with only 5–6 practices… and they absolutely crushed it! 👏

A huge shoutout also goes to our amazing competition team, who learned this routine in less than a month immediately after State Gymnastics. We’re so proud of the hard work, teamwork, and dedication they showed every step of the way!

Most importantly, THANK YOU to every special guest who stepped onto the floor with us. You may not realize it, but the second you walked through those gym doors, you became the coolest people in the room (sorry, coaches 😉). The smiles on our athletes’ faces said it all, and the memories you made together will last a lifetime.

This has become one of our favorite traditions because it’s about so much more than gymnastics… it’s about family, support, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

And with Father’s Day right around the corner, we want to wish all of our amazing dads a very Happy Father’s Day! 💙 We’re also so thankful for the family members and friends who stepped in as special guests and helped make this event so meaningful. We appreciate every single one of you!

To all of our future dads and special guests… you’ve officially been warned! It might be time to start stretching now, practice those cartwheels in the backyard, and stock up on ibuprofen. 😜 After just a few practices, you’ll be discovering muscles you didn’t even know you had but we promise the memories (and bragging rights) are worth every sore step! 🤸😂
