Nestled in the peaceful heart of central Kentucky, Willisburg Lake is a prime fishing lake, with 10 miles of natural shorelines, 126 surface acres, and depths in excess of 60 feet. Fishermen are most likely to catch largemouth bass, shell-crackers, bluegill, white crappie, yellow bullhead and catfish. For the safety and enjoyment of all, there is no swimming, skiing, or jet-skis permitted. This ma
n-made reservoir opened to fishing in 1971, after completion of the dam in 1969. The lake provides water to the city of Springfield and much of Washington County, as well as a natural habitat to wildlife such as: white-tail deer, Canadian geese, mallards, eastern wild turkey, blue herons, and turtles, to name a few! The lake is owned by the city of Willisburg, which helps maintain its natural and uncluttered banks. The only launching ramp is located on HWY 555, 12 miles north of Springfield, 3 miles south of the Martha Lane Collins/Bluegrass Parkway, exit 42. At the ramp, you will find a shop with live bait, ice, snacks, beverages, boat rentals, as well as a dock with boat slips that can be rented. There is a small fee for launching boats, however, fishing from the banks is always free. (Appropriate Kentucky issued fishing license required)
In addition to fabulous fishing, there is also an RV park and Campground. Several RV spaces have full hook-ups to electric, water, and sewer. There are also spaces for self-sustained RV camping (no hook-ups), as well as tent camping. Camping and RV space availability is seasonal, and can be rented by the night, weekend, week, or month. Please call ahead for availability.
