Hi Everybody. I work for the Willimantic Fire Department and help manage the Heartsafe Community budget. We need your help: After two recent failed budget referendums, difficult budget cuts have been made. As a result, The HeartSafe Community line item was zeroed out and we will be unable to continue to maintain the many Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) that we have distributed around the community. We need about $800.00 to pay for expiring defibrillator pads and batteries between now and June 30. Would you consider making a donation to the Windham Willimantic Cares program, to help pay for the upkeep of these AEDs? If so, checks can be dropped off at the Town Clerk's office, made out to "Windham Willimantic Cares," with the word "Heartsafe" in the memo line. Much appreciated.

Did you know? World’s Youngest Inventor
The youngest known inventor is Jacob Dunnack of the USA. As a six year old, Jacob invented a toy plastic baseball bat, the Batball. With a unique design, the top of the bat opens and closes securely so that baseballs may be stored inside it at the conclusion of the game. Jacob’s Batball is 55cm long and it has an oversized barrel. It comes with three balls, which are coloured yellow to make it easier to keep your eye on them. The Batball is designed for ages three and up.
Chelsea Lanmon of the USA may be the youngest female inventor. At the age of nine she invented a plastic baby’s nappy (or diaper) that has a peel-away pocket. The pocket contains a disposable baby wipe and baby powder puff.
