It’s been so long since I’ve posted some things about my business and I know I’ve got some new kids coming so I just wanna tell you guys a little bit about myself. I was a cheerleader from the time I was 3 until I was 18. I did recreational cheer, all star cheer, and I little bit of college cheer. I started as a tumbling instructor at the age of 14 and knew it was something that I wanted to do the rest of my life but under my terms so i decided to open my own gym. I’ve been open for almost two years now and was voted a finalist in Best Fitness Center/Gym. I keep my classes small, 10 kids max depending on the age because it is very important to still be able to have that one on one instruction that kids benefit from the most. I am Safesport certified. At my gym our main focus is tumbling. Even at the age of 4 and 5, we work cartwheels, round off, one arm cartwheels, backbends (which is always spotted by me for ages 4) We have fun but there isn’t one second during the class that we aren’t focusing on some type of skill or drill. I do take skills slow to make sure the technique is perfect and my kiddos don’t move on until the skill is perfection. Moving too fast can cause mental blocks and those are things that can really cause set backs. I always make sure my kids are flexible enough for the next skill, for example, not having a back bend kick over before a backhandspring is a huge no no. Some times I do have to have my kiddos go back to basics if they moved too fast by trying to teach themselves or whatever the case may be, but it improves their tumbling so much. There’s not a minute that goes by during the day that I’m not coming up with new drills to help my kiddos improve and I will say it gets RESULTS. This is the only beginning of MTC and in the future there will be more than just tumbling. I cannot wait for my new kids to meet my awesome and very talented kids who have been with me since the beginning. 💜💚
