I mentioned in the previous post, that I planned to add a page on my Roanoke Outdoor Adventures.com website, where I will share stories/tales/rumors/myths and general "hearsay." Well, that page now exists !! I have labeled it "anecdotes." If you think you might have some interest in the stories I share, "like" this page. When I add new stories to the website, I will announce it on this page so you will be notified. I am currently working on a story about a discovery I made this past weekend. Being There

We grew up together.
I believe I was several years older.

We never really knew one another.

When it began, I’m not sure.
Not knowing dates, or calendars, or time…just seasons.
The first time was at the end of autumn.
A whisper, strangely audible amongst the clatter and cries of abandoned leaves.

Help me.

I listened more closely.

I can’t go on much longer.

And then silence.

Though I listened carefully, I did not hear him speak again
Until the March winds began their pilgrimage.

Again he said, help me.

It was as if I was the only one who could – or would – hear him.

It’s time, he said, and fell.

I strained forward, the winds pushed my back.
I reached out and caught him.
I won’t let go. You’re safe, I said.

Over the past 10 years or so, I have accumulated thousands of outdoor and community related pictures.
