The annual Shotokan Karate of Williamsport picnic will be held at Loyalsock Township’s Heshbon Park at 5:00 pm on Saturday, 24 August. Hotdogs, hamburgers, buns, and sodas will be provided.

Dear Friends & Members,

After printing and distributing our August calendar, I realized that on Tuesday, 13 August there's a conflict with the LLB Grand Slam Parade that evening.

As a result, we will be canceling class that evening!

We will have classes on Tuesday, 06 August, and Thursday, 08 August, but note there's no Saturday class this week!

The week of the LLB Grand Slam Parade classes will be held on Thursday, 15 August, and Saturday, 17 August!

Remember our annual karate club family picnic at Heshbon Park on Saturday, 24 August...

Dear Friends,

The Shotokan Karate of Williamsport (SKW) will host Sensei Takamichi Maeshima at our dojo on Saturday, 27 July. The SKW dojo is located on the 2nd-floor gym of Trinity Episcopal Church at 844 West Fourth Street in Williamsport.

Sensei Takamichi Maeshima started karate training in 1992 at Temple University under the guidance of Master Teruyuki Okazaki, the founder of the International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF). After graduating from Temple University Sensei Taka joined the ISKF instructor trainee program and became a full-time instructor at the ISKF HQs in Philadelphia. During this time he competed in many tournaments nationally, and internationally. In 2013 he founded the Martial Arts International Institute dedicated to the study of traditional karate as a self-defense art.

The Sensei Taka's seminar will begin at 1:00 PM and conclude at 3:00 pm. Following the program, everyone is welcome to attend the dinner at the Villa Restaurant located at 2016 East Third Street in Williamsport.

There is a $10.00 fee for helping to defray some of the costs for Sensei Taka's seminar.

Please let Sensei Bill Bubb know if you were planning on going to the Villa Restaurant following Sensei Taka's program.
