One day I was broke down on the Mass Pike. Exit 6. Heading to Star Speedway with my modified. Several attempts to rescue our doomed voyage by new friend Steve Mendoza had been unsuccessful. So he called his buddy, Bruce Bachta to come help us out.

From then on Bruce was part of the gang. He loved it. Wherever we raced Bruce would try to be there and whenever we won he would post a picture of us. "Someone pick this kid up, he is the real deal".

When I bought the first ARCA car from Schrader I didn't tell many people. I called Bruce though and told him to pack his bags, this time we were going to Daytona. He told me he had an old friend in Texas that could be someone that might help us out and that he was going to give him a call. Bruce's old buddy was Kevin Lapierre and that phone call began what would become KLAS Motorsports

Bruce was truly one of us. We always said I love you when we hung up and last time we talked we were talking about his upcoming retirement and being able to be together at more races in the future.

He loved my arrows on the cars. When we won the first Gamblers Classic he made sure to point out the arrow that was painted on the floor by our pit. "That was our good luck sign, I knew we were going to win!"

Racing with a heavy heart tomorrow at Bristol Motor Speedway. I miss you already buddy. Thank you for taking so much time to care about a racer from Buffalo that you met on the side of the thruway. I would not be here without you. Love you Bruce.

We're back.

It took every minute of the two weeks we had to work with, but she was loaded and going to Holland Speedway yesterday when the races were cancelled. She gets one more week to rest up, we will tidy up a couple more little things we did in a hurry and head to Lancaster Motorplex next Saturday.

I want to thank everyone that helped us get through a very challenging two weeks. We had cut the frame apart on the Modified just before the Lancaster Crash so realistically, we built two cars in two weeks. In the middle of all of that chaos at the shop time was spent in NC, we raced to a top ten finish at Pocono Raceway with our KLAS Motorsports team and we managed to win our first Mighty TQ Midgets race.

I am proud to say that we got it all together and I felt like we were going to the track yesterday with two completely rebuilt winning racecars. I am certain that all of my helpers over the past weeks had much better things to do in the middle of perfect Buffalo, NY summer weather but they hung it out with me every night, right up until five AM Friday morning. They all work day jobs and make it work. I am lucky to have an awesome employer in Bob & John's La Hacienda who understood that I needed extra time off to sort this all out. They are also our sponsors so make sure to support a small business when you can!

Thank you Jake, Jimmy, Mark, Ricky and Paul who were helping just about every day along with a huge cast of helpers who chipped in and gave us a day or two here and there.

Big thank you to Jack and Mary Suchy who assisted with all of the repair work that was needed. Jack is taking an increased commitment to our Andy J Racing team. Jack guided me to Dave at Speed 77 who took a lot of time to get the repair work just right. Our car is a 1996 chassis. It's an older girl so it requires special attention to details as some of the frame work has to be customized since it does not fit modern jigs. They did an awesome job. Thank you Dave and Jack!

It has been a very hard two weeks. We pulled through it though and it's nice to think that this ordeal is behind us. I feel great about the repairs to the sportsman and I feel confident I found some of the issues that have been making our Modified program struggle. We are back on track now for the summer and I am excited.

First things first, it's off to North Carolina tomorrow to get ready for Michigan International Speedway this Friday!!!

Thank you, everyone. Helpers, fans and sponsors. I am well aware of all the support I have but the love I have felt over the past two weeks has been overwhelming. I am truly blessed and I mean that.

🏁Winners🏁

It was a wild one. We raced 126 laps tonight in a memorial race for former track champion Jim Pierce. It's always a privilege for us to come back home to Wyoming County International Speedway every year for this event. I want to thank the Pierce family for supporting the event and being with us for what was a pretty hectic victory lane ceremony.

2021 was the dream season. Nothing has been easy for us in 2022. We have made our mistakes this year, but tonight we dug deep and went out with a win. It takes every single person on our team to make it work. We all play a role, and we all have a hand on the wheel in one way or another. We make each other better. We won as a team tonight 🏆
