Kyu test this evening. Our club size is limited by the pandemic, all sparring had to be distant and these students have still come to training and worked hard all semester. Once the film is back from the lab there should be a bunch more shots added to this post.

Making contact, however lightly, when kicking or punching provides mountains of data your brain can use to improve your techniques. Socially distant training means we cannot get the other part of that equation - getting contacted however lightly. But something is better than nothing.

We, the W&M Shotokan Karate Club, are in strong support of BLM. The treatment that Black communities have faced and battled against for generations is very much against our virtues. We end every training reciting our dojo kun: our commitment to seek perfection of character, be faithful, endeavor, respect others, and refrain from violent behavior. Recent events and actions in violation of said virtues have highlighted the long-standing struggle Black communities continue to face. These events have further driven our support for the BLM movement, but we realize that there is a long way to go. We reaffirm our commitment to equality inside and outside of the dojo, and will also strive to improve. If you would like to help out more, we encourage you to support some of these organizations:
